This is exactly what I thought Nintendo was going to do and it is exactly what I didn't want. Lazy, lazy, lazy ..

*shuts eyes and plays Mario 128*

Can't wait to play this. I'm truly perplexed at the negativity surrounding this title on various forums. I'll put it down to it's cool to hate Nintendo at present and every gamer on the net sucking Sony's d**k.

SM3DL was one of the best Mario titles i've played (i actually preferred it to Mario 64, but each to their own). I loved the tightness of the levels and the rhythm in which one could play them. Everything just flowed.

It's a follow up i'm extremely looking forward to.

They're just a bunch of FIFA and COD fans.

I don't get that angle. It's not like anyone else is doing anything new and Nintendo games are consistently very good.

I'm looking forward to play it however It is pretty clear it is coming straight from the 3ds game - makes you think it started as a 3ds title yet flipped to Wii U because Nintendo needs something big by end of year.

I do think it looks like a lot of fun to play - however I would be lying if I didn't say I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't have that wow actor like galaxy did. Again, I stress I'm sure it will be a massively fun title and I'm just being picky because I had hoped for more than a 3ds sequel - considering this is Marios first big step into a 3d HD world.

It doesn't seem overally ambitious - pretty safe - which makes perfect sense as was expected but a part of me still hoped for something that would push boundaries.

                  This.

Plus if you consider all the other franchises Nintendo have it'd be nice to see a refresh of one of those or something entirely new. Hell even Sony had Uncharted and Last of Us for this gen and Microsoft has stuff like Ryse, Crimson Dragon, D4 etc - that's ultimately the disappointment...

Nintendo might have a poor machine by PS4/XBO standards but for them it's much more power then they've had before - surely theres something new they could do with it?? But I guess not...

This was their chance to blow our nuts off with an epically huge flagship Mario game. Perhaps there's one in the works and all will be forgiven - as an aside Mario game this looks fine and good fun - but until we see some evidence of that, or some whiff of f-zero/metroid/starfox/wave race, or just anything that shows us that something of what was there in the snes and n64 days still exists, let the moaning continue!

I'll get it anyways, looks fun

That's just it though, it is a Mario game and if it's as good as SM3DL, then it'll be excellent and extremely fun to play. Therefore, does it even matter it's not a flagship Mario game?

Honestly, some gamers will complain over anything these days...

What made Super Mario 3D land special was the fact the levels were designed with the 3D screen in mind so they popped out & the 3D looked fantastic. Which is why I find it really odd that they are trying to associate it with the 3DS version when the worlds will not be in 3D (yeah I know they are in 3D but I mean in the stereoscopic sense) from the trailer it looks a little meh but I want to see more of the levels to make a full judgement.

Nice but still not enough to make me buy a U.

Looking forward to playing this but I understand the "disappointment".

I was hoping for an all out, balls to the wall new spin on Galaxy or some new gimmick but I suppose that'll have to wait.

It isn't complaining, it's more sharing a sense of disappointment that this isn't, as you say yourself, going to be a flagship Mario game. How is it possible not to be a little bummed by that?

Sure, once again, im sure it will be fun - but it's clearly a 3DS title, not a Mario title taking advantage of the Wii U - which is a shame. Still, im sure that Mario will come too :-)

Too many are concerned with hardware. You see it all over the net, gamers focusing on the irrelevant.

It's not a 3DS title, Koichi Hayashida said they were working on the game for the Wii U even when they were working on SM3DL. This isn't a port. Also, this is a flagship Mario game as it's under the Super Mario series.

I don't see what all the negativity is for really. As i said, it's just fickle gamers complaining for the sake of complaining, even though there could be a perfectly great Mario game in front of them.

I really liked 3D Land, like a lot - but I was massively disappointed when they announced this. I'm sure it will be great and I'm looking forward to it now, but it's totally unacceptable if this is what we're supposed to be getting in place of a 64/Sunshine/Galaxy.

I feel like I've posted something like this very recently, so I won't rave on but if it's fine if this is an extra game, it will even likely be really good. If this is our 3D Mario for the Wii U, the word lazy doesn't even begin to cover it.
