More like ?19.99 dave heats, actually can't see it dropping that quickly in seriousness.

Doesn't inspire confidence when you see articles like this

Day one patch confirmed too, but it's only 30mb.

PS. not able to watch video at work so apologies if that covers the above already.

To be fair, the apparent short playtime & lack of multiplayer doesnt bother me in the slightest. I'm playing more games from the mid 90s now than recent releases, which are all fairly short and distinctly lacking in online multiplayer, dlc and similarly depressing nonsense. So if the actual game in 1886 is decent, then that's a result.

Having said that, I'm not a big enough shooter fan to buy this anywhere near full RRP.

Just put up an early review in first play thread

5 of so hours suits me fine, I have no time in my life for 30 hour upwards games. Ditto multiplayer titles. I welcome shorter game lengths, so long as those who want their epic game length titles are still catered for, I think the market is big enough to sustain both.

Well I've paid ?54.99 for the steelbook and if it can keep my attention for 5 hours then I think that's money well spent. I have way too many games I've bought at full price that have failed to keep me interested for more than a couple hours. Not the games fault but more me. I just need story driven games that give a sense of accomplishment in short burst. I don't get to game for hours on end but when a game grabs me I will game for hours on end.

Reviews are now popping up all over the net. 5-7's/10 across the board

Only read one. Eurogamer. They awarded it a 'meh': http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...er-1886-review

I've read 3 so far with Metro being the lowest at 4/10.I'm honestly enjoying it

I think I'm going to still give this a punt, with the trades I still need to make it'll cost me all of about ?17 in credit and I've paid close to that for PC walking experience genre titles so I'll think of this along similar lines.

Shame for Sony though, they just can't get a hit exclusive nailed yet. Leaves it resting on Bloodborne next. Shame for Ready as well, I really like their stuff but it seems they let their own interests get carried away with this one at the expense of gameplay time

Kotakus review is possibly the most brutal I've ever read.

It's a shame because I was looking forward to this being at least decent. I was going to give it a try a few months down the line because I predicted that it would have a very low replay value, forcing the price of the game to plummet in coming months. The steampunk setting was just so appealing, but damn.

Quite an amusing read, too, so I've got some enjoyment out of the game.

Seriously, though, even though I don't worship at the altar of reviews the critical response to this flagship PS4 title is a real downer. Not sure if I can be bothered to pick it up even to check for myself. Fingers crossed for Bloodborne and thank god for PS+ or I'd have nothing to play.

A true get it in a few weeks type game when the stores have reduced it in price massively, looks amazing getting a real Dishonored whiff out of the setting, but no re-playability and a 7 hour campaign.

Judging by what's being said, there's not even that much playability, never mind replayability. Modern game design, **** yeah! But hey graphix are gorgeous and that's really what matters in the end!
