Spent about 2hrs on this last night and i'm rather enjoying it. Decent story, stunning visuals and environments and the gun bits play well.

Shame about the grain filter though. Why no option to remove it?

Because it was chosen by the developers to make the game more film like, just like the lower resolution and black bars.
