And a new entrant to the market, sounds like they're aiming to top the others quality wise, field of view, specs etc. Sure there will be a price to match too.

Oculus Rift Consumer Version 1 preorders start tomorrow (Weds).
No price stated still yet though, I'm plumping for $449 (or around ?390 delivered here to UK and including VAT) as it includes an Xbox One controller and two games (their Touch controllers aren't due until second half of 2016 now).

Setting aside the whole whether VR will implode on itself debate, OR's handling of the consumer launch so far is embarrassing. A Q&A as preorders go live where most of the questions will the basic info that should already be available before a single order is taken is so poor. I do get the curiosity and appeal for those usually interested in all things tech but the red flags on this and VR for anyone else are staggering.

He's doing an AMA on reddit.
What kind of stuff are people going to ask?
They've not announced the price yet, that is the question on everybody's lips.
Could it be that it's staggeringly expensive? or that it's excitedly affordable?
We know how much the Dev kits are and the mass production version is likely to cost less, so it's not a total unknown.Last edited by EvilBoris; 05-01-2016, 20:31.
