Wii looks fine, great even in some games (e.g. SMG, DKCR) in prog scan on a good HDTV. It's simply untrue that it always looks bad.

MK Wii has some nice visual design on some levels but I find its graphics mostly just functional. Not that it stopped me playing hundreds of hours of it.

Mario Party 9 was a pretty fun game, much better than the disappointing 8. I like the different ways of playing mini game tournaments with friends.

You'll never get that time back, sadly.

Worst MK this side of Double Dash, if not ever.

The worst thing about MK Wii is the Ai when playing alone, in the last class I was forced to move from lightweight drivers to heavyweights because AI drivers will slam onto me, forcing me out of the track. And they would still do when using Bowser, getting the opposite effect.

That may well be true. And yet it still manages to near-endless and brilliant fun in 4 player. Probably a testament to just how solid Mario Kart's formula is

Besides, even if that was true, it doesn't mean squat because MK is such a high-quality series of games and more fun than 90% of all games combined.

Mario Kart Wii is tremendous fun, online or with mates on the same couch, one of the, if not THE most fun games I've played on the Wii.

Mario Party 9 was surprisingly alright, better than the few before. SP is still a weak point but overall not too bad. Tried NFS Nitro and The Run for the system which were pretty meh, next Nitrobike which was pretty naff also. Motion control steering, kills it every time. Next up then is one that's been waiting to be played for a long time, No More Heroes 2

MP 9 is brilliant but to play it single player is to have sex alone. Limited fun.

Excite Truck was great for motion controls in a racing game.

To all those who have been enjoying their 2DS's and 3DS's playing Pokemon X/Y and Luigis Mansion 2 and anticipating the new Zelda... I say damn you, damn you all! You've pushed me into ordering a Pokemon X/Y 3DS XL Red with Pokemon X, Luigis Mansion 2 and Mario Kart 7. Damn you all!!

It's been a Wii intensive few days, but now I'm on Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I never went through this, it came out when a lot of other games were out which means it's one of only 2 games in the series I haven't gone through. I'm very early on after the very slow opening, just into the Deep Forest. It's alright, doesn't feel like a Zelda yet but very early days.

I've dropped Zelda for now, it's been a very long time since I've found an entry in the series to be so much of a chore so felt best to break off and go to something else for a while. In went Mario Galaxy again, that feeling of sweet jesus quickly came back. It's just epic.

New systems are coming so this is pretty much done now. I'm going to attempt a Wii-WiiU transfer to keep my VC collection going. Otherwise Mario Galaxy was the perfect way to not just finish this season but all four seasons.
