Presumably Sony have done plenty of market research and have decided the iOS user base is more likely to be forking out for a new console at launch than users of other mobile ecosystems.
Android users cannot afford the PS4. Breaking news!

Drive Club isn't a total simulation is it? So it's not in direct competition. I agree that for me it will destroy them both especially from a graphical point.

Project Cars does look amazing, really highlights how much rain (and night) is a big miss for Forza.

Nice vid, shame it dosent show whats in the standard retail box, HD replacement looks like it can be done without having to dismantle the whole thing but im still not sure, bit confusing whether the top back plate slides off without having to unscrew all the stuff at the back.

I think that is a standard retail unit too. The box is the same as other images.

You would imagine there would be sliding panel the same as with the PS3. After all, Sony fully endorse replacing the HDD with your own, and yet also clearly disapprove of actually opening up the console (hence the seals).

Part of me would have liked to see an external power supply in order to make the console a tad smaller, but I suppose it's more convenient in that you can easily replace the power cables without having to buy a proprietary power adaptor.

The 8gb ddr5 gets me smiling every time. Looks like lovely engineering and also rather simple to repair by a tech centre. Cool vid.

Yeah, I was impressed by the apparent simplicity of it. Might build my own :-)

Very impressive video, its funny that it looks so simple, dont know why but i was expecting it to look entirely different, kind of more too it. Brilliant.

A well designed power supply shouldn't produce much heat or have worse reliability issues than the other components in the device. After all, who worries about not being able to replace the internal power supply in their TV or monitor.
