Well, not speculation. The hardware failures are real. It probably doesn't mean anything as I think about 2000 people got their PS4's early and there have only been about 4 failures reported but that doesn't mean the collective internet won't lose its mind and predict teh doom!Comment

Well any hardware will have failures. So it 0.005 % hardly a disaster. Now if 50% of PS4 are having trouble that will be a **** storm. Im sure there was a thread here on the forum about failure rates?Comment

I watched a guys console break live on twitch, a few hours later, went back to the stream and he was still trying to fix it, sounded gutted.
Then again he won the console and didn't pay (console total) hard earned cash, I did feel bad for him in the end.
He finally did get it working after removing his HD, rebooting without a HD in console and reconnecting the HD, bit of a faff but he got there in the end.
Thing is we are now knee deep in the twitter, streaming generation. Console fails we know about instantly, there have been 7 incidents so far. I'm sure more will happen in the coming week.
We are not quite at RROD levels of panic and annoyance.Comment

Not to mention the machines the mags and sites have probably aren't finished retail units as they would of needed them in advance to review properly, plus would be absolutely hammered to get the reviews done too.
Lets not start predicting the fall of Sony just yet, after all, MS is still paying for its xbox failure rate on the balance sheets, and probably will be some sometime, in-fact the profits from the Xbone (assuming that hasn't got a failure issue too) might just wipe the slate clean for them.Comment

I think its inevitable that a mass produced piece of tech kit will have a small percentage of fail rates. I dont think its possible to make 100% of consoles with zero failaure. Fingers crossed these are just isolated incidents, will see what happens over the weekend in the US.Comment

We built a PC for my mate. All top notch components including a 900 watt Corsair power supply which made a whining sound for 2 seconds before making a loud bang and going up in a puff of smoke the second we switched it on. Stuff goes wrong sometimes! no need to panic yet! To reiterate, my earlier statement was in regard to the way the internet will blow this out of all proportion, didn't mean to imply that Sony had problems.Comment

More of a balanced and positive look at Killzone, i really enjoyed the latest Killzone vita game it had a great single player and i really enjoyed the Multiplayer as it has some fantastic maps and some cool game modes so am still really looking forward to this.
this has got my hype levels back up

Regarding the failure of the consoles, to be honest I thought this was going to happen purely because of the physics of it all... look at the size of the PS4 compared to the Xbox One (which looks like it could live in an oven practically), it has its PSU and a more powerful APU all built in in to it, all that HAS to amount to much more heat.Comment
