2 Days to go and the game is just past $3m. Another quarter mil and next gen versions could happen.

As incentive, an engine test vid has been released

It looks cool but I think I'd rather have a 2D engine.

The kickstarter is now over. The game reached $3.8m though paypal contributions pushed it over the $4m stretch goal. Iin the end funds managedvto secure a release on pretty much every format, another extra stage, an 8bit style soundtrack and an online race mode.

The graphics are shiny enough, but it's not got much character. It looks rather soulless to me.
              Kept you waiting, huh?

Second kickstarter started to fund bonus features, the first goal being english voice acting for a hundred grand. A third kickstarter will launch later to try to fund an animated series

you can duck wtf this isn't a mega man game i want my kickstarter money back!!!!

To be serious as a guy brought up on mega man (megaman 2 was the second game i got for my nes) this looks very bland. I assume the initial corridor bits are finished and the grey platform bits are place holder stuff, if not wow this game really needs an artist to come along and make some more interesting level dressing because the bland industrial setting really looks out of place. The vibrant characters really jar against the dull looking levels. I really do think the character artist and the level designer need to get together and unify there style.

I'm hoping it will look a lot more unified on release as at present it looks like a generic throwaway xbla title with a limited budget, not an indie game that's had over 3 million thrown at it.

It's been increased to $200,000 on the website now for Japanese and English voice acting, however with it only at $12,000 even now it's seems unlikely to meet it's target. The fact that voice actors don't cost that much unless you want A list actors leaves me with a lot of questions as to if this project is now looking a bit shady.

Surely the Kickstarter bubble has to end at some point, what with the Yogcast game and this? As soon as crappy games start coming from it people will soon have enough of it.

There has already been a lot of controversy (Oculus Rift) and failures to meet expectations (ouya), but kickstarter keeps going, What people don't seem to realise is your not pre-ordering a game or device your taking a risk and gong in as a silent investor. You have no say in how your money will be used and no guarantee that your item will see the light of day.

the amount of money thrown at Mighty number nine is a real worry as for an indie game its looking remarkably poor and very unfinished for the amount of time and money thrown at it.

                        Reality vs Concept ho hum

A crossover between Mighty No.9, Azure Striker Gunvolt, and...GalGun, has been announced. It will be for the 3DS, with NES MegaMan -style graphics, released within 2014. It will be named Mighty GunVolt.

A bit of context: Azure Stiker Gunvolt (available on the Japanese eShop, end of the month in the US) is made by Inti Creates, but Keiji Inafune had some input on the game. GalGun is made by Inti Creates.

Japanese game developer Keiji Inafune is crowdfunding downloadable content for his already crowdfunded side-scrolling p…

The project that had an initial $900,000 target and has so far amassed $3.9m is launching a third kickstarter for another $180,000 so they can add DLC.

Disgusting abuse of backers and fans when your still trying to bleed them for a game that hasn't even been made and your claiming you need more funds having already taken more than four times the original projected amount. Red flag.

There's no thread about the game, but since it's an Inafune game...remember Kaio: King of Pirates? The one starring a blue penguin and a cast of animals? Based on the Romance of The Three Kingdoms? That was supposed to be a trilogy?
No? Well, it has been cancelled by the publisher.

And that reminds me, what happened to Mighty No.9? If anyone cares, I mean.
