Got to admit I'm with Charles and co re touch screen gaming, even on an iPad for something like this. My Note has a 5.5" screen and bet that is still too small to make it enjoyable.

Guess that's why the Android version has an average rating of 3.1 our of 5.

It's a simple button press on the iOS Cave ports to toggle auto fire on and off. Essential for getting decent scores in some games. Works well too.

I'm sure a toggle works with some games, but Ikaruga needs constant attention and precise shots for chaining. I can't see it being anything but rubbish.

The android version of Ikaruga was actually really good, and the control customisation it offered you was pretty awesome. I wasn't the best at the Dreamcast version, but I can perfect chain the first stage on Android just the same.

I had the controls set so single tapping the screen would swap your polarity. At the bottom of the screen, you had a long bar that toggled autofire on and off, and you also had two buttons on the side for manual fire and energy shot.

Looks like the announcement was Ikaruga being put onto Steam Greenlight, looks like they are interested in converting to PC.

Yes nice to see it being ported, really want this on the Wii U and 3DS though personally.

If they'd indicated that this would be the "Ultimate" version, ie - featuring all the extras from all the other ports, then I might have considered it. As it is, it just looks like a cheap & cheerful commercial release of the NESiCA version, so no thanks.

Me, too. I could see the optional 3D working quite nicely in a couple of places as well - e.g. the 'descent' cut-scene in level 2. I don't know why Treasure haven't ported more games to the DS/3DS, given the potential sales on both systems.
