The problem is.... who to trust?!? I know who, you guys! Can't wait for the first play! Did any of you play KZ M? I would be prepared that is a 7/10 game, but as a big KZ fan and also having wanted a FPS on vita I Wubbed it!

KZ is also a very nice online game, how did the reviews fully test that in real world conditions?

Don't forget to sign up for some action here: http://www.bordersdown.net/threads/1...-online-thread

Is it dedicated servers this time?

agreed Mercs is outstanding on the vita The fact that i can sit on the sofa while the kids watch tv and have a really intense solid multiplayer match on a tiny handheld still amazes me.

I will play this on (most likely) Tuesday, fingers crossed for a VGP-shipment within the day. My first KZ, hope it will be a blast

But most likely, I will be like this

I haven't looked at the link, but I don't see changing review scores based on how a game is doing after a patch or w/e as a bad thing. It informs people who may not have bought it yet that the initial concerns have been addressed, or that there are new issues as with say MMOs or Online only games like Sin City.

It's not like they're the first site that's ever reviewed a game that's drastically different to most other places. Why is no one calling out the 9 from destructoid? It's the same gulf from the eurogamer review. Granted, there's more in between the 7 and the 9 but still. I don't think it's fair to call him in to question if it is legitimately how he feels about the game, and based on what I heard of him talking about it before even getting retail code, it wasn't hard to guess he was going to score the game harshly. He just doesn't like the series or the mechanics- he always bangs on about latency in TVs and guess what Killzone is known for having... latency riddled controls (supposed to be better this time but still). If there's something that's so central to a game that has an issue that someone is averse to already, i don't see why that wouldn't factor into their opinion of the game.

I haven't actually read the review, so this is all speculation as I don't know if he does mention the latency as a sticking point, but it's what he's always banged on about in the past.

Never understood why anyone holds killzone in high regard, the only thing it had going for it was when KZ2 was new was the very distinct weight to the combat and some decent A.I. (on par with Halo/FEAR1). Apart from that it just dull, linear shooter and bankrupt of ideas belonging in the same row of seats as RAGE, Crysis2 and recent COD's.

Having listened to RebelFM regarding the SimCity review they have some good excuses for that mess, which generally goes along the lines of having played in "controlled Environment" and sparking a debate on updating online/mmo games with moving review score.

Which highlights another issue- these canned review events where everything is in optimal condition. They need to go, they're not valid opinions really. Especially when a company plies them with freebies like Sony did at the review event, Scott Lowe and Greg Miller from IGN both got them for free and even had them engraved with their names... plus a stack of games and a free camera. I agree with sending them review hardware etc but I'm pretty sure these were personal gifts to those people. And that's obviously going to affect that person's over all opinion of something- whether they think it does or not.

It makes you wonder are they gonna review all there games again when they hit retail, a big part of killzone and most other fps is the online side of things how you judge this's at a closed event playing against other reviewers on a LAN I will never know, for games like battlefiled four this is even more of a problem as most reviews seem to state that the offline isn't great but it's great online, how do they know this when it isn't out yet it could be another sim city online.

I hope they do, I personally really like the Killzone games and if it wasn't for it (and Resogun) I likely wouldn't get a PS4 yet. Was hoping knack shaped up better than my experience with it, but clearly not.

And yup it could very well be another Sim City style debacle, but I doubt it since for that game it was more centering around the controversy of the online servers being ****e. I don't think he'll change it too much though, as I've said before he hates Killzone for some reason.

anyone picked up some info on 3D in latest Killzone? it's a shame, no one seems to care about 3D games anymore...

Listened to rebelfm this week for the 1st time in a couple of months just see what they have to say about the Ps4 in general, they open with killzone and it sounds like a right pile of crap.

The world at large said similar things about Killzone 2 and that was one of my favourite games of the last gen, so I'm not paying much attention to what the press are saying about this one.

(by the way my opinion is that Killzone 3 improved on the gameplay, especially multiplayer, but the campaign mode felt really rushed which let it down compared to KZ2)

from what Arthur is saying, they've stepped away from what makes Killzone a killzone game (especially the art direction) ina move to make more palatable to CoD player, the open combat areas break the A.I. as it has a really hard time using the environment so it not fun to fight, they make many stupid decisions often just running straight at the player like cod game.

The HuD is so minimal it is hard to read, the game(and the series in general) still suffers from terriblely designed maps that make it hard to know where to go next, often doesn't tell the player what your suppose to be doing, the cover system is broken (built to low so your head is always sticking out for one hit head shots), the owl system is under used and limited, the story and characters are the worst in the series (which is saying something for killzone). And the final few missions are really, really bad.

Who is Arthur and why should I listen to him?

Anyway I'm just sad it will be another 5 months or so until I can buy the console to actually play KZ4. Does it have Move support? I really hope so as that was the best thing about Kz3.

He's a pretty cynical games reviewer who used to be at IGN, but is now at Polygon. He also does a (sometimes) weekly podcast with a few others talking about games. A lot of people don't like him/ agree with him, but he generally has some good points.

Sometimes he is completely off the mark though, like he thinks Dark Souls is a bad game, and that's probably one of the best games of the generation for me .

Is the MP still great? That's all I need to know. KZ2 MP was brilliant. Really good maps.

                                SP can ferment eternally.
