What actually is the point in cheating to this degree? I thought the main drive of multiplayer was to always have something to aim for with the unlocks.

I LOVE this idea!

All the pimply kids with no social life who snipe you from the far side of the map in the first few seconds of any game you join are stripped of their powers. Surely there's more prestige in using your bare hands to kill somebody carrying a shotgun?!

I don't get the fun in winning really easily. It's a hollow victory for you and eventually nobody would want to play with you.

Maybe it will be possible in killzone4 multiplayer given it's extensive multiplayer customization.

I'm in though. I only don't use the scopes anyway, virtual death to the hackers!!!!

Looking the number of Kills on the leaderboards it is still hacked... Top few hundred all hackers, you know the 1 kill prestige rated tossers. How can this not be stopped? Maybe IW just don't care

If enough people file a report maybe they'll get summat done.

I remember from previous CODs that if i saw someone cheating I'd check them on the leaderboards & more often than not they were up there with an impossible score, so I'd report them

Wrong, when MW1 came out the leaderboards were real. I made number 237 in world on kills, there was one fake as number one the rest were real scores. I played and communicated with many top players in MW1. When the hack came out the leaderboards were screwed. So they can work, and, have a purpose, otherwise why put them there?

Exactly...mw1 was the first BIG multiplayer game in the series...that really exploded, every subsequent game will have been chocka with BS at the top of the leaderboards, if for no other reason than the sheer number of extra players with each release.

With that comes more hackers naturally.

But how hard is it really for IW or Treayarch to check the leaderboard, say once a week, see the obvious shysters with unfeasible scores and stats at the top, and just flush them out?

Probably because they will do anything for an extra sale...that includes not putting people off buying the next game, including hacking pond life.
