Xbox one is already performing well enough and I expect titanfall will run brilliantly and also Halo. I do think thay ps4 will always have the edge. When Microsoft improve their drivers it's not like Sony will not also be improving theirs. Once ms gey to the point that games are running native 1080 it will be much harder to spot the difference though. At least we're unlikely to see the kind of disparity like we did between ps3 and 360 though. Good stuff coming up for both systems.

i don't think it related to drivers only. MS has to get rid of this whole "3 OS at the same time overhead" which is what causes this performance suffer in my opinion. and it's highly doubtful if this can happen at all.

so my guess would be the PS4 will keep its performance advantage over the Xbox - which necessarily doesn't mean it gets the better performing games.

Of all the websites and magazines out there, I find DF to be one of the most interesting and I'm not sure it's fair to say he is MS biased, I think if anything he is "Developer sympathetic". He meets these people, he understands the blood sweat and tears they shed in the process of making games, often for poor salaries and at the expense of their private lives. The data speaks the truth and when he contradicts a gamers review or tries to spin the facts in a more positive light, I see this as his personality of careing, rather than due to bias.

I might be comepletly wrong, and he might be an arse, but this is the picture of him I've formed over the years. At 60fps and 1440p of course.

i love the Digital Foundry tech articles, mainly because they are mostly well researched and written. one point i don't like though is they are extremely focussed on graphics, means sound, AI and physics are rarely analysed in more detail. that's unacceptable for a site that claims to be tech focused and in-depth.

I think what would be nice to hear, is if the leap in graphical assets make it a worthwhile purchase if you have already played on current gen.

.....had Lara hanging upside down but gravity had no effect on her hair. With the improvements they've made I'm sure these things are next to be tweaked.

I saw this on gameplay vids and thought "how on earth can the miss this out for a definitive version"? Someone must have noticed this??
