They've all been given that slightly more aggresive attitude that Americans seem to crave. I imagine it'll be "Dude" this and "Dude" that, with a full compliment of "Whoooah AWESOME"s and "RAD!".Comment

With regards to the cartoon, the American effort was actually much better than the awful Japanese effort (Sonic X) which was actually made by Sonic team. The American interpretations of Sonic have always at least had a bit more character than the Japanese efforts.Comment

Looks terrible, contender for worse Sonic game of all time perhaps, Eurogamer has stated this game isn't being released in Japan. Which said it all about the quality of the title, crap cartoon tie in.
Alas the days of great license games died way back in the 90's Konami, Capcom and Sega what happened you used to make such great games.Comment

Gonna go out on a limb here and say I actually really, really like it.
Sonic's been going down the toilet for a while. Given, recently we've had a few pretty decent titles (Colors, Generations etc) but it's still in danger of becoming a toxic brand. It makes sense for Sega to spin it off into something that wipes the slate and gives a fresh team a go at it, and some of those Naughty Dog platformers were very good.
I even like the redesign of characters like Knuckles, and the attempt to break up the group's homogenous silhouette.
I dunno. I suppose I really like the idea that they're being allowed to work with the brand without constraint, and some of these changes demonstrate that. It might end being terrible, I don't dispute that, and I'm not happy with everything I've seen, but I'm interested in seeing someone else's take on the material.
Let's see what they manage to actually make before judging it.
This might be due to me being a Gundam fan. I've grown accustomed over the years to seeing someone produce reboots, AUs and reimaginings of the franchise, so it doesn't concern me to see Sega doing it with Sonic.

This isn't even anything daring because it's just pushing it further in the exact same direction, the move that has been happening since Sonic Adventure. I like how they have made sonics head more aero dynamic, but not too fussed about the rest of him... Dunno bout knuckles bouncer like chest... The echidna looks so... What's the word... Ridiculous!
