What alt controller options do you have if you're hooking it up to a tv?

I'm finding the on board controls ok, but not for fighters. The shoulder buttons seem to need pressing in a certain way too. I'm using a PS3 HRAP with mine, but I think they'll recognise any PS3/360 USB connectable controller. Chojin is using a USB SFC pad with his.

I have reinstalled all my stuff after this afternoons muck up. Have DC Ikaruga running sweetly today -

Or throw it in to tate mode -

Does it have 2 usb ports for 2 player fun?

No, just the one Bash. Not sure if there's any way around that. If anyone wants me to try anything out on it game wise let me know, quite enjoying mucking about with it now.

Wow Ikaruga looks great. Could you give Grandia II a spin for me please?

                  Dreamcast emulation - very nice

Can you try tokyo highway battle 2 (original hardware struggled with bad slowdown) and blue stinger (my fav)

Can this device emulate anything else a bit tasty, that the psp couldnt?

Some of the droid handhelds have had issues with a few titles, Grandia II being among them.

Colin - Have you seen this thread with the fixed stock kernels:

Apparently they released the source code and someone on the scene fixed all the problems with the handheld. Also have you tried the new supercharged firmware?

It definitely is R-Type, and very unique too - precisely how you'd expect an R-Type with 2P co-op to play.

I have a JXD, I did all my homework, the firmwares off dingoonity do not come without their problems.. I haven't bothered changing anything. In its stock form the JXD runs sweet, the web browsing and other tablet functions all work, if a little sluggish, but for me its not an issue, it's all about the emulators.

Only the one usb port, I don't think there is a work around, which is one factor I would love...

The onboard controls are ok, nothing to write home about and definitely not for fighters, but being able to plug any usb controller in negates all those worries. I have used my usb snes pad and my Madcatz SFIV Round II TE Fight Stick, bloody love it!

The emulators I use aren't the built in ones utilised by the Happy Chick app..

I use a few made by Robert Broglia and then a sprinkling of others.

                          Neo.emu
                          Snex9x Ex+
                          MD.emu
                          PCE.emu
                          PPSSPP

Reicast is supposed to be the best Dreamcast emulator, i've not had much success with it as of yet

I've also read good things about RetroArch but i've not looked into that yet..

I've heard that the best results for DC are obtained using clean complete rips of the GDs and not the ones that were messed around with back in the days to fit on CDRs.

What are the issues with the firmware? I was under the impression that the standard fw had some niggly issues and these were resolved with the custom jobs. The supercharged firmware seems interesting but I get the feeling it will be detrimental for the hardware in the long run as its supposed to run quite hot as it is.

I too will be using it just for games but the only platforms that really interest me on it are Amiga, Dreamcast and later MAME stuff. The plug in controller bit sounds ace though.

Apparently there is a sleep issue, which some say has been rectified and some say otherwise. There is an official 1.6ghz firmware update on the JXD website, but as i've not had any problems I thought i'll leave it as it is.

You are probably right about the DC rips though, I haven't really bothered much with the DC or PSP tbh, I will get stuck into them, but i'm too busy enjoying the Neo Geo at the moment I had a mission with the Neo Geo until I found www.emuparadise.me and i've had 100% success with the roms off there.

MAME has been good for me so far, I have just used the built in emulator for MAME, SF 3rd Strike using my TE stick love it!

What the **** is a kernel? I thought that was what popcorn was made from? It doesn't make popcorn.
