Yes. I don't care. 30fps, or less, is rubbish
So then Mario 64 is rubbish, keep it coming Dave :P

Slightly off-topic, but that Mr Hidetaka Miyazaki guy who designed the Souls games and now this, love him. I see (according to wikipedia) he worked on a few Armored Core games before. How did he go from that to the Souls recipe, or did From Software decide they wanted a spiritual successor to the King's Field series?

This is probably the interview you're after

He is a video games visionary, the creator of intricate gothic fantasies regarded by some as the best titles of the last 20 years. In a rare interview, Hidetaka Miyazaki explains how he rose from unwanted coder to company president

DLC confirmed by a tweet, probably within the year.

I predict a prequel, like Artorias, but with

story of first hunters, Ludwig's falling out with Willem, and how Ludwig ended up as a beast skull on cathedral altar.

Finally picked this up, after getting a PS4 Pro cheaply due to the PS5 launch, and as I recall Bloodborne was one of the machine's first really big games.

I've never been a big fan of the Souls franchise. Honestly I'm still a somewhat dejected Armored Core fan but still. I've enjoyed this, so far, more than the others I've tried. Visually, a bit mixed but I see what they were going for, and in particular the audio is fantastic, the weapon sounds are so stompy and crunchy. You practically wince every time you hit someone.

Just... I dunno. Does anyone ever feel that in these games, you succeed in spite of them instead of because of them?

Like in BotW, you do a lot of thinking outside the box. You can fight enemies straight-up, and sometimes that's the best course of action, but you can also work around the problem with the various tools at your disposal. Still, maybe it's a tone thing, but when you do this, you don't feel as though you've "broken" anything, or have "cheated".

I just killed the first boss; to do it, I had to try and constantly remain behind it, so the AI would freak out and not really know what to do, while I eviscerated its backside.

Similarly, I got killed by this werewolf thing before, and when I asked a mate about it, he said that the best way to do this was to use the nearby stairs, because the AI struggles with it, and you can get it caught and just hit it while it glitched out. Similarly for attacking enemies through walls, or killing the dogs in cages before they get out.

I'm not even that sure what the difference is, but there's definitely a difference. It's kinda like the difference between early Capcom & SNK fighters, like how in The Art of Fighting there's a way to kill each enemy, and if that way is to repeatedly sweep them, over and over again, with maximum efficiency, then that's what you do (and the game will punish you for doing anything else).

I never found myself succeeding at all in any of the Souls games (and Bloodborne was supposed to be the easiest).

I put it down to a lack of patience (or even just skill) on my behalf.
I lacked either the ability or willingness to learn how to play the games, and never found them intuitive enough (or have anything resembling a learning curve) to put any real effort into.

                          My loss, i'm sure.

I've tried to like Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, and Bloodborne, but none of them clicked.
Real life is painful enough, I want to play games and enjoy them, not suffer because of them.
