I have been playing the PS3 version and the subtle improvements make the game hugely better than last year. It only includes a handful of features from the next gen versions too.
Physicality is immense so far with incredible ability to precision yourself in small spaces and control the ball.

Current gen 15 has really impressed me. Next gen is probably awesome, bar that odd goalkeeper thing! [emoji3]

There is sadly nothing on it worth buying one for at the moment. Everything vaguely good is cross gen. Exclusives are weak. Forza Horizon is the only next gen game I want and even that is on 360 and will probably satisfy me.

Weak, virtually non-existent you mean, Driveclub is the only one I can think of in the next few months.

As it stands, I'm happy with ps3 Fifa, it's more than good enough. As for PES, i don't believe for a second it will be as good. It's no way made up 3 odd years in 12 months. That's roughly how far behind it is. Does it even have analogue control yet?

downloaded ps4 version, did not like having to start as Liverpool, made me feel sick.

A lot of work has been done to the atmosphere, definite improvement in the grounds, commentary and chants. Sadly the players still look lifeless zombies compared to the models PES uses but all is forgiven with how fluid the animations are. the keepers have aload of new sliding saves like peter schmeichel would do charging down a one on one, though this has lead to the occasional power shot rolling up the body of the keeper as they fall backwards (if the ball avoided his hands) and the ball slowly rolling/bouncing towards the goal.

What exactly is supposed to be the extra benefits of the PS4 version over the PS3?

New keepers with completely unpredictable AI. Better overall AI. More advanced physics. Better player physical behaviour. Much more animation. Better visuals.

So a bit, but not enough really
I doubt I'd notice unless I played them side by side

                      Thanks for rundown

Just played demo on PS4 and it's effin' good. New animations, better responsiveness and awesome presentation. I did come across a keeper blunder though.

Also all 20 Premier League stadiums, players emotionally responding to events on the pitch, goal line technology simulation etc.

The demo wasn't a great impression for me, had to play as Liverpool at the start! and then when I tried playing another game with other teams the game would stutter to 1-2 fps / show black screen and not doing anything. Apparently their is a glitch with EA servers and PS4 demo it seems. I closed demo, then turned of PS4 connection to internet and restarted demo and then it was fine.
Hope the final game isn't a buggy as this, most of the slow responsiveness I found in the demo was down to the borked EA servers i think.

Wow, I had total opposite experience. Forgot to say how responsive the menu system is now, but that could be lack of content/data being scraped compared to full game.

the menus were a lot more responsive when the internet connection was off.
Having not played any PS4 Fifa game yet, the general gameplay was a lot more responsive and the in game cut scenes were a lot more responsive than the last game I played which was FIFA 13 on PS3. It always seemed sluggish on PS3 probably pushing the system too much but the PS4 seems to handle it ok
