Then feel sad and old for the rest of the day...

That's it, I've had quite enough of the world for one lifetime! It's only deviants, frauds and ignoramuses out there now.

I hope my kid turns out like Dylan, he knows what's up. Most of the kids in these videos are surprisingly kind to old technology and make a lot of good points, but when they talking about preferring to play "games" or apps on an ipad, it makes me feel a little ill. It's funny to think that games for something as technologically inferior as the Game Boy are infinitely more complex than ridiculous million-selling apps like Flappy Bird or whatever.

20 years from now we'll have kids reacting to the iPad and they'll be like 'you have to use your hands? It's like a baby's toy!'.

One of the kids does pretty much say that, though. Something like...

"They didn't even recognise people's skin! You had to press buttons and stuff. Lame."

In 20 years I'm sure we will be relying on gestures and voice

Yeah, that's exactly what it made me think of!

I feel bad for the kidz, because to some of them, the best gaming they'll ever experience is Angry Birds.

                Kinect 2.0 shows otherwise.

Computers were pretty crap in the 70s but by the 90s you could do fun stuff like Doom and downloading porn off the internet.

To be fair, when I was playing Sonic the Hedgehog in the home and Virtua Racing in the Arcade, I thought the previous generations experiences on the BBC Micro were rubbish too!

Kids don't have to worry now, streaming HD Porn on their mobile phones. It's too easy now! Back in my day, I remember the excitement I felt when the porn .jpeg was downloading on my 33K modem line by line, as my Mum & Nan talked in the other room, praying that I wouldn't be caught!

Yeah, I guess it has to do with attitudes.

As a kid, some mates and I found a bunch of Sinclair ZX-81's in the back of a cupboard in our school workshop. Given, they were effectively useless by then (this would've been 1997 or so) but even so, I would never have called them "junk". I was fascinated to see what people had to deal with on these older machines, even if only for a few evenings.

Then again, it's probably a sign of changing times. I still had old Tiger Electronics games etc. when I was 10-11 in the mid-90s, and those were very "out of date". Even I knew that they were far from the latest technology, but that didn't affect my ability to enjoy the experience they offered.

Kids like that one, I fully expect you'd give him a Beatles record and a player, and he'd call it "junk" before even spending a minute or two to listen to it.

It's no shock, is it? When we were all playing super famicoms, mega drives and PC Engines we weren't exactly hankering for the Atari 2600.

Even when I had a Mega Drive I still had some of my most fun playing a monochrome version of Asteroids and basic Tempest conversion on the PC, which were way before my time. I don't think it's right to excuse such snap judgements so easily. Teaching kids to be open minded is an important part of building an intelligent human being.

You'll be telling us that kids brought up from PS4 gen onwards would much prefer playing on the jaguar to battlefield 4 next. It's just the way kids are, the drama of the adult reactions is sillier than theirs.
