Yeah, it's not like Sony said "we don't want Tomb Raider thanks", and it sold better on that platform. It seems clear that MS offered an incentive to keep it off PS, although we'll never know for sure.

Part of it may come down to the way the news reached us? Not sure but how did we find out about Bayonetta 2? Did Nintendo stand up and a big show and go "exclusive bitches!". Even if they did, it is a different thing. There was no expectation of a Bayonetta 2 for anything really. TR is an ongoing franchise that has sold well. There was every expectation of a new one for current gen and PC.

The Next Tomb Raider is Xbox One Exclusive
As has been emphasised, Bayonetta 2 and Project Zero are not comparable situations because they're are not exclusivity deals per say - instead, Nintendo are funding the development. They become exclusives by default, but it's not like Nintendo are throwing money at the publisher for the sake of it. The games would not be developed at all otherwise. In that sense, they are more comparable with first party exclusives like The Last of Us or Infamous.

In the end they all do it and have always done it . People bitch about MS or SONY , Lets remember Nintendo tried to lock out any 3rd party that developed games on the NES from developing on rival platforms and MS get a bad time over a timed deal with TR it makes one laugh
BTW- Last Of Us is a In-House title to me that's totally different

So come on kron and badboy, we all know the situation and we don't need the XDL (Xbox Defence league) jumping out every time someone dares to say anything slightly negative about Microsoft's decisions its getting old.
The exact same nonsense we're going through now has already claimed a big victim and we lost an incredibly creative Sega because people pay way to much attention to PR and what is deemed as the popular option.

If I'm being objective, getting TR2 even as a timed exclusive is a pretty savvy move on MS's part. It sends a clear message too. If I'm being honest I do feel MS has a good chance over the coming months to gain momentum again and do really well. I think Sony is well beyond their reach already, the price MS pays for fluffing the US. Hardware has been the main selling point for next gen so far and there's no getting around the fact Sony beat them on that front, MS's other errors compunding the fault. It also has to be taken into account that MS has been on the backfoot to Sony for years now, the PS3 gobbling up market share on the 360 as MS got overly complacement and where still too US focused. None the less, there's little doubt that they've come far since E3 2013 and the XBO is poised to do very well over its life.

Thanks for proving my point about the state of play.
Nobody is defending anything here ... Yeah there is no way of knowing for sure, but I guarantee that if the situation had been the other way round we would not be having this conversation now. It would have been business as usual, nobody would have battered an eye lid, and you certainly wouldn't have had people on the thread saying how bad Sony's business practices is for doing this.
Simple fact is that its one rule for Sony and one rule for Microsoft, Sony can do no wrong, everything Microsoft does is wrong. You dont have to be a fanboy (which I am not, as you well know I have a Vita) of either to see that there is a fair amount of inequality going on...
Its got nothing to do defending or accusing one or the other, its just simple ****ing common sense. And pulling out the 'your just a fanboy' card is the lowest of the low, when you know full well that isnt the case.

Instead, a platform holder has decided to simply pay the publisher millions of pounds to only release said game on their format - money that Microsoft could more positively invest in their own IPs. These cases are bad because vast amounts of people lose and nobody actually gains anything.
Not that I disagree with the thrust of your argument; it's a bad situation.

That's a roundabout way of expressing that there are people who are 18 years old this year who were mid-way through primary school when the 360/PS3 came out, and as console video gaming is very popular with people aged 11-20, there are a fair number of people you'd consider to be adults for whom the 360/PS3 was probably their first console.
Stuff like this isn't a surprise to us, who started gaming on the SNES or earlier, because we're still of a mindset where multiplatform stuff is the exception, not the rule. The standard these days is different. Kids expect their favourite iOS game to also be on Steam, Ouya, Android, Windows Phone, Surface Tablet, PSN and XBLA. The album they want to buy is on 26 different platforms, the movie is in the cinemas then available on one service that you can watch with your phone, tablet, PC, in your car...
I mean think about it. I have Half-Life 2 on my Steam, a game I bought at launch, and I can still play it on my modern computer now. That game must be 10 years old. Things are different now.
