RRV is one of the most beautiful games ever. I've been playing it all week! It's so crisp, barely jaggy anyway, butter smooth and that glitzy lighting.

That sold me a PS2 and felt next gen. My favourite arcade racer ever.

Going for the one with 32gig. What else is recommended besides the console itself, hardware wise?
Any other recommended hardware purchases besides what comes in the box itself?

Nothing has come even remotely close. Sad really.
No, though ChromeHounds was the best and that now sadly is a distant memory too. Here's hoping Rainbow Siege and The Division mark a return to brilliant Co-op Online

Separating Ass Creed which has been shipped seriously broken twice now (3 and Unity) everything else
Unity is still a very nice and well made game imo and it also features a really nice Co-op mode too

For anyone else who got a Basic WiiU this Christmas, how long does the first update take?

We set it going, then put the gamepad to one side to charge whilst watching TV. There's a progress bar, but it has been 10 minutes and it's only got one "blip" on the bar.

I know internet connections vary but are we talking minutes or hours? I always remember the initial PC update of Final Fantasy XI and how that took nearly 48hrs...

When I bought a new one 18 months ago the initial update took about 90 minutes I think. Not sure if it's improved/worse time wise now.

Just want to say to the next person who's concerned the WiiU is "underpowered", that we've just come out of a 1hr Nintendoland session and I honestly think that's among the best-looking games I've seen this generation.

Very fast, stable frame-rate, high-res, but most of all, it looks and feels "solid" in a way that I can only say reminds me of Mario64.

It feels like a Dreamcast game, in a good way. If the rest of the WiiU's output is like this, then I'm over the moon.

              "Grimdark" gaming can **** off.

Super Mario 3D World looks amazing and would not be out of place on a PS4. It's nothing special technically though, it's all down to the bold colours and high frame rate.

Sorry mate but I have been playing this too and it looks far from the 'the best looking game' of this gen. IMO it is not even as good as Rayman Legends last gen.

Great fun with the family though and that's what counts in my house, before 7pm anyway

Also so I was looking through the indie games on the Wii u shop, it has Pier solar!!!!

I just need a 'y' cable for my usb powered hard drive and I will dig into some indie titles.

The Japanese versions of Tekken Tag and RRV were really jaggy. US and PAL versions had added AA...

But yeah I love Ridge, inc 6/7 wish Namco would do another... Which reminds me when is that 90's Arcade Racer on Wii U/PC coming out??

Ridge V had no anti aliasing at all on all versions. The clean visual style means it doesn't look too jaggy. Tekken was adapted for the west though and it does look nice. It was more beneficial to it.

Fair enough, always had the Japanese ones....

I wondered what it would have looked like with AA applied. Pity it never happened, at least you could choose one or the other.

Terrible, like the soft focus/blur fest that is RR6

I'm not so sure. Ridge would have worked I imagine because it has such clean lines.
