They are cheap to produce and the profits fund the next entries in the series or new games. If they continue to sell they are good business sense. Games are so crazily expensive to make now publishers need to find extra ways to fund them.

Spot on ! And it's not a new thing either . The Dreamcast had plenty of PS ports to it with slighty better graphics thanks to the DC use of PC tech (not least from Capcom) and even on the Saturn and PS were had remakes or ports of Sonic 1,2,3, Sonic 3D, Quake Shot, Mickey Mouse, Earthworm Jim 2, Mickey Mannia and so on

So I just don't get the big fuss, more so when one's not got to buy them . Quite Happy to see more classics come to the XBox One and PS4

They aren't remaking classics though, they're remaking any old thing for a quick buck.

Also, DC ports were fine because they weren't on the system preceding it IMO.

I actually bought the DMC HD Collection on PS3 recently. DMC3 felt off so imported DMC3 SE for PS2 instead. Lol

Tbf though, as much as I hate to say it, I'd be interested in DMC4 SE.

On the whole I don't mind the remakes - they're basically redoing my xbox 360 library with better versions on next gen, which is fine with me.
I do find it odd though that they decided to do DMC4 - I didn't think it sold that well? I thought it was average at best....

I'm so apathetic towards this current gen, I really don't care either way, but i think it's pretty obvious why people aren't happy about constant remakes. After all, you don't buy new piece of hardware for ?300+ to play games that have been released years ago on old consoles. When you combine this with alot of new releases being overpriced drivel, it's understandable some people aren't happy.

That's being subjective . Being a DC owner I never felt ripped off or cried this is worst gen ever, when Capcom were bring old games to the like with RE 2, Project Justice , Dino Crisis , RE 3 and so on - When it most cases they were simple ports and just cleaner and higher res games. That's overlooking last gen and the remakes of the likes of Conkers , God of War PSP games , Halo, ICO, SOC . Never mind that the PS and Saturn played host to remakes of Megaman, Lunar , Phantasy Star series, Street Fighter 2.

Its nothing new at all , even in the so-called good old days of gaming

The PC version of DMCV is already 60fps 1080p with better graphics. Very interested to see what DMC4 will add though. it seems like it's adding something entirely new. It had some interesting ideas of it's own but lacked content. Always wanted to play as angel Credo although it's obviously hinting at Vergil. I'd hope there'd be new stages/enemies/bosses than otherwise it'd be like playing through the same game 3 times with 3 characters.
