Kidding, that's Hunters. How easily the new one can pass for the old one. All too common an issue with Nintendo this year it seems.

Part of me still feels that people are judging this a bit harshly.

I mean we've seen so little gameplay and don't even know much about it yet.

What would've made people happy? A rehash of metroid prime, when 3 of those games already exist?

That being said, I'm not a big Metroid fan, so maybe that's why.

This clearly is not a Metroid game. It besmirches the name. And footage of Blast Ball mode - with the ball hovering in front of you - looks like an inferior version of Ballblazer on the C64, which I found thrilling when I was 12.

EDIT: Removed. Not going to argue this; just accepting that as I'm not a huge Metroid fan, I'm looking in at this from the outside and probably don't get it.

It looks shockingly poor. It looks to me like a bargain basement game, struggling with a lack of resources and doing the best they can. Hunters looked better.

That it is branded as a Metroid game and yet isn't one after we all wanted a Metroid game is just a kick in the pants on top of how poor it looks.

Metroid is the franchise many of us are dying to play. To tease it right in front of you like Nintendo have is as bad as my wife withholding sex.
