Hard really i have to admit hype has not really got me goin yet, although this is good cus then i don't expect anything from the games that r coming. WE7 for me is brilliant n can't wait for FE version, whenever that will be. I'm quite lookin forward to Street Fighter Hyper, SvsC Chaos even though i played arcade about 20 times, n the various MGSs that are coming out. Gran Turismo 4 nlooks good lets hope the boringness of trolling around in A-spec is gone. Last game i lost sleep over was Zelda n i thought it ws ace. i wanted it that badly i even bought it in Japanese n it ws still good even without the story.

I've been thinking about this myself and to me it's like gamers Christmas have been delayed until Q1 04.

How so many games this year have slipped, so far, for so many players is stunning. Remember when Christmas looked jam packed with triple A? Now it's the chrimbo of Medal of Honour: Rising Sun.

With a little bit of luck the industry will have a piss poor Christmas and will get their finger out in future.

Personally, I'm hyped about Gradius V & Killer 7 - both look superb to me & I can't wait for their release.

There's plenty on the horizon for me to get excited about. Just off the top of my head; Half-Life 2, Halo 2, DOOM 3, Resi Evil 4, GT4, Spinter Cell 2, Rallisport Challenge 2, and plenty other games with numbers tagged on the end! Looking forward to Killer 7 also, though I wasn't a big fan of the first six.

Donkey Konga has put a big smile on my face and is complemented well by PC Genjin and Mario Kart on my cube.
Gregory Horror Show is a very fun and unique game, the GBA has had loads of quality stuff recently like Mario & Luigi, Fire Emblem, Sword Of Mana and the slightly older Hamtaro.

Stuff in the future?
Pikmin 2 is the main one for me, followed by Fable, Killer 7, GC Harvest Moon and Pokemon Colosseum. GBA Mario Golf is looking tremendous too.

I cant get excited about Killer 7, i mean what gameplay elements have been revealed.
For some reason it reminds me of Hybrid Hevan, people were going wild over a short demo for years before any gameplay elements were known. We all know HH was, well average.
i suspect the same about Killer 7.

I'm actually more excited now for FF Tactics than when I bought it. Now I just think - must play more!

I'm looking forward immensely to Donkey Konga on Christmas day... it will be awesome . I'm also looking forward to FF12 - the tidbits of information shown make it look a lot more like FF7... my, and most other peoples' favourite of the 3D FF's.

And it's strange, but a year and a half ago I was really looking forward to the likes of Galleon and Kameo etc. Kameo was the reason I bought a GC, to be honest. Now I couldn't really care less about either of them - Kameo has dropped in appeal for me and I haven't got a clue whereabouts Galleon could be.

You're right though. I spent days and months salivating over forthcoming games at one time... now though, I just... don't.

What is wrong with Rainbow Six or Amped?? Why would you mention those. They just had sequels released. Though Amped 2 has a mention of Amped 3 in one of the unlockables....

I guess I was missing the whole point of the thread as all those games I listed are quality but can't stand up next to the likes of SMW or OoT.

The thing is no game ever can. At least not in the near future.
Those games you listed, and Mario 64 and Goldeneye, were revolutionary for their respective genre's. They were a breath of fresh air and until there is something truly new like them, a genuine advance in technology, then you may well be dissapointed and underwhelmed for a while.
However it doesn't stop the likes of Konga, Made In Wario, Rez, Ico etc being excellent. Try and appreciate these new games for what they are.
Isn't gaming supposed to be fun? None of these titles could be described as not fun.

Let me put it like this. Ryan Giggs. Not a patch on George Best. But it doesn't stop Giggsy from being damn fantastic, inspite of his inferiority to an all time legend.

Besides a number of other people rate them very highly and they have appeared in a number of game of the year votes on this very forum. But then if they don't float your boat then fair enough, no-ones forcing you to play the things after all.

However if you're into first person team based combat or trick based snowboarding then you could do a hell of a lot worse .
