Completed GTA V on PS3 and last year replayed on Series X (paid about a fiver thanks to the now closed Turkey store route). If anything I think I enjoyed the game more the second time around. Loved it.

I love the GTA series, but I've only ever gotten about 70% through the story of GTAV as I really dislike how overly scripted the missions are in a game that is meant to be free-roam. Just tell me I've got to go kill some guy and let me figure it out already.

That’s what made the earlier games so great

I remember some ancient mission where you had to snipe someone during an elaborate chase.

I parked a garage truck outside his gates and shot him in his house before he could leave.

          Love breaking missions!

Yeah the less free format mission gameplay was a major shift in GTA 5.

I do agree it's for the worse, too.

I've said this before many times but the problem with excessively scripted sequences with a single solution is that I end up feeling like I'm acting in a play where I don't know my lines. It's a strangely disempowering experience in what is in many ways otherwise a power fantasy.

On a different note, based on the latest trailer, one thing I am hoping for in the new GTA is a significantly improved first person perspective mode. The environments, like the beach scene in trailer 2, are so extraordinarily detailed that it would really be a shame to have to enjoy them from a floating camera hiked 15 feet in the air as is GTA tradition.

Brilliant. I do the same. In Oblivion I used to trap overpowered NPCs on banisters and then take them out at long range.

In Dark Souls 3 a particularly annoying boss clipped into the wall and got stuck and I was able to take him out in leisurely fashion lol. A win's a win.
