    There's loads of good action, arcade games here - many still playable today, but Zork was an amazing feat of technology and creativity. A tiny bit painful to play today and the genre is almost a forgotten relic, but still great.

      Space Invaders was the official bass-line of the arcade. Loved that sound.

        Yeah - just your mention of it brought back the sounds and smells of my local arcade. The other big noise was always Defender (and to a lesser extent, Robotron). Those early Williams arcade machines produced some amazing sound effects.

          My experience with most of the above is very cursory, it wasn't really until the Amstrad/Spectrum etc era that I got into gaming so most of the games on the 70's list exist as historical notes rather than memories. To think, that's how some people feel about Mario Galaxy...
