Quite a few of us have now got XSX / XSS / PS5 systems, and if we're all being honest with ourselves, there aren't many games exclusive to, or pushing any of these platforms. Most of us are sat on a pile of PS4 / XB1 games though, with access to plenty of bargains on older titles too, and given this is the first generation in forever that's fully backwards compatible, I've been wondering about what games got mostly overlooked for having run like arse on their native platforms, but now with the raw hardware grunt of these new systems, are now suddenly much more worthy of a revisit.
I'm aware there's also the issue where disc versions of some games (The Last Guardian and God of War are the two I've heard mentioned) are without frame rate caps in their unpatched forms, whereas current iterations have limits in place.
But to get onto the sort I'm talking about, Disaster Report 4 seems a good example - I'm hearing this now runs at 60fps!
I know the charm with EDF is tied up in its lower production values, but has anyone tried 4.1 or 5 yet? Does it smooth out the more chaotic levels?
And so on.
