This is looking better to me with every clip I see. The graphics are tremendous, the world design looks interesting, and it looks like a proper boomer shooter. It even looks somewhat, dare I say it, next gen?

Old school style FPS, in the vein of Doom and Quake. Recent examples include the Wolfenstein revival, Doom revival, Dusk, Prodeus. More emphasis on taking down enemies quickly than taking cover.

Is it right I'm getting bioshock vibes from this? I think it's the pseudo russian alternate future stiff going on... but it's more an out and out shooter like Doom than being heavily narrative driven?

Either way I agree it looks great and it's risk free in game pass as well...

The early reveals definitely had Bioshock vibes but it does seem to have veered off into a shooter compared to Judas which is almost 1:1 a Bioshock

Not just you, I'm definitely getting Bioshock vibes from it as well. I'm actually not a fan of the Bioshock series to be honest (I think this looks much more fun), but the overall aesthetic definitely feels like it's drawn inspiration from those games.

It's not a bad thing. It's just a weird vibe I get from it.
