Yeah I've seen the same thing on Reddit - 'Calling it now, it will launch alongside a 4K Switch with DLSS'.

You'd think the existence of the Deck would finally put a nail in the coffin of a 4K Switch

I’d love it if the Switch 2 did come out next year

I honestly don't know what they really want from one. Most things Nintendo puts out are well within the capability of the Switch and when you look at the power levels and price points of current high end portables they tower above the Switch in terms of price point. Deck is the only slightly comparative system and it's dependent on Valve soaking that up which Nintendo would never do. 4K would only ever be put out by the dock and even then you're looking at several years to get that at a marketable price point, DLSS is given huge over expectations by Era on how much it can make up. Couple that with how the rumour seems to always accompany BOTW2, a game running on an engine made for WiiU, the last thing such a system is needed for - nuts.

Given the DLC road for MK8D, Splatoon 3 still yet to launch etc I'd say a Switch 2 can safely be ruled out this side of 2024 at the very, very earliest.

They are going to use a 3090 Ti so it can do 4K on a 7" screen, and double as a dust blower, paper weight, bludgeon tool, and hand warmer.

Capcom possibly releasing follow-up to Arcade Stadium compilation/launcher, which surely makes no sense given that the original Arcade Stadium is supposed to be expandable via DLC, no?

The reviews for Chrono Cross are all over the shop:

I'll wait to see some videos to see if those jabs at its performance are genuine.

I find it staggering that Square-Enix appear to have failed to at least have it running at a solid 30fps bare minimum. Really, there's no excuse for this not to be running at a full 60fps in 2022.

Nintendo are rightly called out on lazy cash-grabbing like this when they do it so I see no reason not to do the same with Square-Enix here.

Digital Foundry's take on this will be interesting. I wonder if the usual suspects will pipe up with their usual spiel of "wHo CaReS aBoUt ThE fRaMe RaTe???? FuN iS wHaT mAtTeRs!!!111!!!!"?

Having experienced what they did with FFVIII, which was barest minimum, I will keep expectations very firmly in check but, with that in mind, happily take it for what it is.

As long as the music isn't messed up, given it might have the best game soundtrack of all time.

its not a switch problem runs as badly on ps4, its just a badly optimized port of an old game.

                            This seems relevant for you!

I never said it was a Switch problem. I was talking about the game in general, although we are in the Switch thread of the forum so one could argue context.

My point still stands. This appears to be a shoddy port from Square-Enix, regardless of the format.

                                I'm fine with that.
