Defo excited for the remake … just hope it has an original soundtrack option like Capcom provided.

                Quick initial thoughts:

SH2 Remake. Blooper doesn't have anything very stand out, but they are having their hand held so might be good. Don't like James face though!

SH Town fall. Could be good. Not made by Annapurna but still.

Return to Silent hill. Didn't like the original film. A film based on number 2?! No thanks.

                SH Ascension. **** off

SH F. No idea but I like the art style.

The SH2 remake looks incredibly faithful and I’m all for that.

Never properly played a Silent Hill game, so I may take the plunge.

I think I ran around in the fog for a bit, but didn't get far.

I been thinking about this. So like with the ps1&2 were they used the fog to cover up the poor draw distance, why not do the same on ps5? Bring the draw distance right down and put all that graphic power into a tight circle around the player. By rights you could get this running at 4k/60 with RT. In doors it's all narrow corridors and tight rooms anyway so no reason it can't be the same inside.

Most folks I know aren't quite so convinced about how the SH2 remake is looking, nor are they so trustworthy of Bloober. Fair enough, but I'll probably give it a try seeing as I've never played the original. Lord knows I've tried, but honestly the atmosphere is so tense that it's just really, really difficult to motivate yourself to keep on moving into new areas.

In contrast, I saw lots of people getting excited for Townfall based on it being a No Code game. I wasn't familiar with the dev before, but I checked out trailers for their two titles to date (Stories Untold, Observation) which both seem very interesting, shortish horror titles. Was up for trying them, but then saw both are listed as 'Unsupported' on the Steam Deck. Booooo!

Observation is part of PS+ Extra if you have a sub.
Also have to say games opening intro/title screen is scored by Robin Finck and it’s an absolute belter, such a memorable sequence and music.

I will add it in case anyone wants to watch it but it’s worth playing as it has a sequence in game before these titles hit and it adds to the atmosphere.

Also double edit - HELL YEAH! NO CODE ARE MAKING A SILENT HILL GAME!

I'm not watching it, but Robin Finck's a good name to drop to get me even more interested! For some reason I had it in my head that these were PC games only, and although PS Plus pauper tier doesn't have it for free, both games are on sale currently so it cost me less than a tenner for both. Sold.
