Well, I think you might be on to something.
Halo 5 launched in 2015 and by the first year it had double the amount of content released compared to Infinite. The difference is that gamepass didn't exist in 2015 and Halo 5 made absolute millions on sales ($500m in the first week according to wiki). More sales means more budget for staff and releases.
I don't believe MS will be funneling $500m of gamepass money to 343i and maybe that's the problem.

Microsoft has signed a deal that will ensure Call of Duty remains on PlayStation for several years beyond the existing 2024 marketing deal. The wording though is beginning to increasingly make it sound like eventually Sony will have to say goodbye.

Yeah though I see Halo Infinite multiplayer as a loss leader in many ways to get people into the ecosystem, though they can of course stay on Steam. Plus is does have micro transactions if people want cosmetics, and that store is accessible by far more people the what we saw in Halo 5 given it spans two generations of console and PC.

Without hard numbers it's impossible to compare the profitability divide between the two games.

What is clear though is Halo Infinite is light on multiplayer content year in and I would 100% attribute that to the staff attrition in the studio due to a combination of poor management and the pandemic.

It takes a lot to train new developers and keep the momentum and on such a huge project that's got to have set them back a tonne... but I'm sure top brass has something major to do with it.

Interestingly some users on Twitter have videos of split screen co-op running on both Series consoles and the original Xbox One. This is through a known menu trick to access it that 343 has never patched.

Performance wise it's fine in Series consoles but seems less so on Xbox One, though not terrible.

I'm not sure why 343 would choose to totally cancel it. Even if they released it as a beta with"known stability" issues would be something and give them time to come back to it later... Or make it a Series console only feature and lock out last gen.

Coop and forge “beta” be November, absolutely laughable work rate.

Halo infinite had mostly negative reviews on Steam and less than 5000 players.

Getting review bombed after the last roadmap announcement... fair enough.

I'm still one of those 5,000 players
Actually spent a bit longer on it last night due to the Yappening event. I'm really not a big fan of the larger map modes, the idea of the Halo BR is hugely off puttting, but it was decent fun for a bit given how much of the same the arena modes are.

I enjoyed playing it in the new modes. It's just a bit of dumb fun... which it needs more of right now

So that white elite controller is officially called some crazy mouthful but it's essentially the "Core" elite which lacks all the extra swappable height sticks and the battery pack to make it a cheaper SKU ($129.99). If you want all the extra gubbins they'll charge you for that separately.

The interesting part is MS will drop this into the Design Lab in the next month or so to allow you to customise it there.

Core = no 20GB hard drive.

£130 is taking the piss for what you're getting.

I just looked into this. WTF is the point?

Here is the comparison of features from Elite vs Core:

So it's an extra £80 vs a normal pad for a 'thumbstick adjustment tool'. Whatever that is.

Honestly these premium pads must be a fuppin gold mine. I have no clue why anyone would buy this personally.
