I'd laugh if the new Dualsense was priced the same.

The RRP on the controllers is always sky high. I can see why they've separated out the extra components into another sku on this though. Many people don't want them and the main controller still has the main stuff like the paddles etc... You can also buy similar 3rd party sticks etc at a fraction of that packs cost anyway.
As for this... it'll drop in price fairly rapidly. But anyone if this is the only elite offering they're going to put out now when everyone is expecting a Series 3 version.
As for the Dual Sense Pro... no way that is coming in this low. I'd be shocked if that was the case...

The trouble with this approach is that they've stripped out so much of the Core model that it no longer justifies a price beyond the normal RRP of a standard controller. It's a testament to the Series X controller but I like the Elite 2 however the gap isn't massive. Without the extras there's zero reason to buy the Core. The flip side is you can buy the pack to make it as functional as an Elite 2 except now that combination is £10 more than the old controller cost. QOL improvements will be good but the product is basically well outside the wheelhouse of having any value now.
They should have just released a Pro controller which is the normal one with back paddles for £80-£90 and call it a day

Especially because in the design lab you can already design the base controller with the textured side grips, which isn't exactly like the elite but close enough.
Here's my grey/metallic tan design I'm planning to build:

So they finally, officially showed off parts of Forge and... well it's highly impressive stuff. Especially near the end where they show off a community made map using 65% of total budget that looks like it could be an official map.
They also said they'll include forge maps in official rotation so given the sheer lack of maps right now (you know, that one thing I'm constantly whining about) this has the potential to swing things around.

Who knows what the hell is going on inside 343 anymore....

You know it's taking a long time when I'm now 1 Yappening perk from completing the set a week before the deadline and at rank 84/100 from the pass with just under two months left on the clock. It's very minimal per day I'm playing and not even using the Double XP tokens, I think I have about 20 in reserve

I hit 100% in the current battle pass last night through playing in the yappening stuff. I will say I'm thoroughly enjoying the yappening stuff.
I've also got just the last tier of that event to go and I'm done. This with taking a break of a month in between... I have used a few boosts though as they gave about 15 of them as an apology for a bug a month back.
I honestly don't know how or why we have so few maps in the game. It's a question I'd like answered for sure... The most likely reason is they've seen a massive resource drain due to bad management and other priorities. I mean we knew co-op and forge were main things coming up but there's also the battle royale and potentially campaign DLC.
I'm just at a loss as to how they've let it go almost a full year with just 4 additional maps and thought that was a good idea...
At least it seems forge will enable the community to do 343s job for them. I'm really hoping we see some classic maps re-imagined alongside some new ones.
