Not shocked at all. eSports always felt like a manufactured fad, too much focus and not enough of a balanced approach. Between it's dependency on a handful of games own popularity, having to navigate one toxic gamer story after another and that fact that it's, well... not a sport. Too much on a niche and now the bubble is bursting.

Umm, because if Starbucks handed you your coffee and it was delivered wrong in some way they'd also be expected to fix it for free?
Charge for DLC if you want but if this is trying to advocate charging for fixing broken releases then it's the wrong way to go about it. If it's about free extra content in an update... Is anyone demanding that other than maybe the publisher?

This is a discussion between the Development company and the publisher. Nothing to do with the gamers.
The developer sat at a desk won't care, because he's getting his salary regardless. The gamer won't care because it's free stuff. Only the development company as a whole will have a problem if money becomes an issue.

Outer Worlds is getting a next gen update. Might give this another go then as it was technically dreadful on gamepass when I tried it.

Sony Challenges Gran Turismo 7 Players to Race Against GT Sophy AI
The AI that can apparently beat any human is available to race against until the end of March.
"A new Gran Turismo Sophy 'Race Together' time-limited in-game event will be available for any players who have reached Collector Level 6. Four races (Tsukuba Circuit, Alsace Village, Trial Mountain Circuit, and Suzuka Circuit) will be offered with increasing difficulty (Beginner/Intermediate/Expert) and will feature four versions of GT Sophy cars setup with different levels of performance. That way, the challenge should remain varied throughout the race.
A second 1VS1 mode will also be available where the player can race against GT Sophy in identical cars. That way you can get a true sense of how good GT Sophy is as a racer, or receive a reality check on how bad you are."

"Far more than just a Monster Hunter clone, Wild Hearts exceeds expectations and then some, mixing streamlined action with inventive new toys."

Also, that video is also poking fun at people who say they stop playing any game when an allegation of abuse is discovered or suspected. Can you separate the acts from the art? I have my limits (Developer abuses of employees) but am happy to divorce myself from single acts which are focused on the individual.
However, each act of abuse is individual and has to be treated as such, and then some things we're willing to forgive, others not.
What I don't think is helpful is the screaming and shouting; Removing debate and discussion. Although I don't care about Harry Potter in anyway, the discussion around J.K. Rowling is multi faceted, nuanced and both enlightened and horrific. However, shouting at Developers making a game around the universe she made?
There's no right or wrong, just multiple levels of shade.

Whether or not you can separate the artist from the art, I think, is intensely personal, and what works for one person doesn't work for another. Some people literally do not care; like they still listen to Lostprophets and it doesn't faze them. I can't get by with that stuff; mainly because we live in an era where there are so many talented people making new things every day - new books, new manga, new games, new comics, new TV shows, new films - that I don't find it hard to strike most things off if I find something out about them that I dislike.
