So even less worth watching than before, thanks for the heads up

Half-Life 1 & 2 are like 96p or something on Steam. Possibly free. I dunno, just go and get them, people.

The final list isn't that bad in the end. The DLC rule is, as expected, a rule made to accommodate Elden Ring but it is expansive so fair enough. Personally, I'd swap Wu-Kong out for Stellar Blade but it's personal preference plus one has sold 20+m just to China so you get those easy click internationally

Sony are in talks to acquire Kadokawa, according to sources from Reuters. Kadokawa not only owns game studios (most notably From Software and Spike Chunsoft), but also several publishing firms, and Japanese Youtube competitor Nico Nico Douga.

From Softs games will still never run at a stable 60fps, so don't be thinking that will change under Sony

I know Era and the likes will be screaming the house down at Sony buying From but I have to believe they're more of a bullet point on the list of reasons why Sony is pursuing this. From aren't actually a great studio for Sony to own as a first party, the games that really broke out for From were in large due to being on all formats. Exclusives like Demon's Souls and Bloodborne, though critically liked, didn't pull the numbers Sony likes.

I'm guessing Sony will buy Kadokawa and then close FromSoftware after one game.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 launched today ...

So that's going well then :/

Paid for the Aviator edition and have been stuck at the security gate for over three hours now.

Shame. I couldn't work out what was going on. Had a 300mb preload and then went up to 28gb. Stuck at 97% for hours.

That would be terrible considering their fan base. But then again, not as if Sony would care about that. Best case scenario if that was to happen, From Software would just reform under another name, possibly "from From Software". πŸ˜‰

I don't think it's getting fixed today - and just another example of why games with an overreliance on cloud servers are a really really bad idea.

And it's still broken this morning - stuck at 97% for 30 minutes now.

It's a shame about the launch issues but this game looks really incredible. I don't own an Xbox or a Windows PC but I might have to borrow a friend's Series X or sign up for Game Pass Ultimate to stream this on my Mac. The level of detail looks insane and I love that they've seemingly added a lot more 'gamey' features with objectives and things to do, to help give playtime more structure. I was always interested in Flight Sim 2020 but apart from not owning the right hardware to play it, I was a little put off by the fact that it was so freeform.

The Hysterics over this on Era already is hilarious. From games will still come out on PC day & date (most likely) albeit with PSN log in requirements, and then will still come out on Xbox with a delay, as Froms games sell fine there as well. Plus all the manga and anime is a good fit for where Sony are headed as well.

Unlike MS Sony need to actually make profits, why people think they would by Kadokawa and just axe a profitable dev like From is mind boggling, it’s a good fit.

I think it's more than possible that Sony would make some From games timed or permanent exclusives. I mean they already have form for doing that even without From being a first party studio.

Don't really think it's a big deal if they do. Nature of the game innit. If you care enough, buy a PS5. Gamers just love moaning.
