If anyone with just an Xbox really wants online multiplayer just get Perfect Dark instead. It makes Goldeneye’s MP totally redundant.

Honestly I think we're going to see loads of YouTube and Twitter stuff about how Goldeneye's multiplayer is terrible when this comes out.

It was amazing because it was, admittedly, tight (i.e. free of major problems) and because for most, it was their first experience of a multiplayer FPS. Great party game. But I think it's been talked up like this legendary thing and it just isn't.

I take it the Xbox version is going to be the already leaked XBLA version, if so then it plays well. SP will be enough to get fun out of what these days is a simple game

What a disappointment. I can only presume there is some licensing / contractual limitation at play there as that's a huge omission.

Yeah apparently the Switch version is just the original rom with fake online multiplayer, so you're basically playing it in split screen over a network.

The Xbox version is a remaster but doesn't have online play because of technical limitations (not worth the extra effort involved basically), so they dropped it.

It's interesting that time has gone by so much that we've waited too long for this now and it probably won't be received well. I'm looking forward to playing it but it will only be fun for 5 minutes.

It's just a 4K upscale with improved frame rate performance. It's not the remaster, unfortunately.

The thing I loved about Goldeneye was the excellent structure.
You could play on easy and just jump off the Byelomorye dam, or ramp up the difficulty with more tasks to complete.

Rewatching the film was great, because as he infiltrates Byelomorye dam via the toilets, you're thinking "I've done this!"
Even the incidental music is spot-on!

On top of that, they clearly had a love for the Bond franchise, especially with the multiplayer, that threw in all the henchmen and other characters.

Main thing is, Split screen proximity mine battles are back on the menu. So much fun.

The bit where you meet 006 inside the facility was great for this. The room is the same floorplan, with the same shaped gantry-way.

Truth be told, I don't even care for N64 Goldeneye that much any more.

I'm just hoping that this clears the path for Blast Dozer/Blast Corps to come to NSO + Expansion Pack now.

I've played it recently and yeah it's just not all that anymore.

I'm aware that Blast Corps is on Rare Replay. We all know it should be on a Nintendo platform though.

Diddy Kong Racing....meh. But yeah, no reason it shouldn't appear on NSO + Expansion Pack now, especially when there was a 3DS port.
