Microsoft would definitely absolutely love to have GP on Sony and Nintendo platforms.

It's all downside for Sony and Nintendo though, so it'll never happen.

Lots of new previews of Indiana Jones today, most seem pretty positive.
The game launches on XSX and PC on 09 December 2024, it will also hit PS5 in early 2025

Microsoft has announced the release date for its upcoming batch of Xbox console variants, including its digital-only Series X.

The three new Xbox Series X and S models launch on 15 October

            Xbox Series S - 1TB: £300
            Xbox Seriee X Digital 1TB - £430
            Xbox Series X 2TB - £550

            Absolutely ruddy pointless

Later in the reveal text they also confirm the new SKU's won't be released in nearly a dozen countries.

It's becoming quite a painful slow death rattle

                Can’t jitter those shareholders eh.

Edit: apparently phill said “we are running a business here”

Reaaaaaaaaaly Phil? Are you? Because 25 years of evidence to the contrary says different, and that’s a lot of years of total F ups you’ve tanked countless billions into sorting out or propping the brand up.

Not including your Mars money on Activision recently which will go down in history as the most pointless purchase ever.

How these morons stay in their jobs is utterly beyond me, fail upwards! And up and up and up, apparently.

A half-hearted update to say the least. I can't see the point of any of these, if I'm honest.

It would have been much more interesting to get the Amazon Echo style Xbox that we saw in the internal planning materials that came out during discovery for a court case sometime last year.

That was actually a pretty innovative design for a game console. Since cable boxes and DVD players have disappeared in many homes, people don't have so much of a need for traditional 'TV stand'/'media unit' furniture, and I thought the design reflected that nicely.

Still don't think it would have moved the needle on sales, but it would have been cool.

The once Xbox console exclusive Sea of Thieves has reportedly sold in excess of 1m copies on PlayStation 5. Plenty of sales and sails, really!

I’m super surprised at how popular this has remained, especially given how barren it was on launch and how little to it there was.

Ah, ok Obsidian, then you don’t necessarily need my cash then either?

edit. 30fps for consistency my hairy arse, there’s nothing consistent about a juddery, stuttering, slideshow of 30fps and dipping below, shove it up your arses devs.

I don't really understand them trying to validate why we (the consumer) don't need 60fps in our games.

We know how that went with Redfall...

It sounds like this might be heavily using ray tracing on PC and perhaps on console as well. If that's the case I'd rather they delay it and give us proper quality and performance modes, with the latter not using RT.

As for 60fps in general, Redfall now has it and is better for it... Starfield the same (even on Series S now since last update).

It can be done. It should be done and we don't need spoonfed excuses.

It’s backfired on literally every single game that’s come out this gen and devs have been sneaky with a 60fps mode. They announce at the last min it’s only 30fps, and cue massive crap storm, every, single, time.

Devs, 60fps or no sale, it’s as simple as that, 30fps does not work whatsoever on modern 4k panels, it’s a fundamentally awful experience.

I could imagine that devs feel torn. Approaching the point where 60fps is less of an option and putting a 30fps bells and whistles experience would normally be the go to move, they likely still feel that the mass market players don't care about 30fps being the sole option however core gamers do and are the ones with the online coverage feedback will come from. That then creates pressure to maintain a 60fps option for PR's sake but as the systems get older supporting it will compromise the experience.

Once PS5 Pro hits the market the gloves will probably come off and more games will say pay up the £600+ price tag or its 30fps only
