Spencer does an interview where he states
-The costs of manufacturing consoles isn't falling meaning no price drops for the machines
-They won't be moving away from the existing Xbox Series S
-He suggests that a mid-gen model is unfeasible this time

Even if they had a mid-gen refresh they still have to support the current Series S. I don't understand why people think bringing out 1-2 extra revisions makes things better...
The question I want to know is why have very little titles to date used memory saving technology they touted 3 years ago? Stuff like variable rate shading or sampler feedback streaming so far have only been used in a smattering of titles like Doom Eternal, Gears 5... Surely if the Series S memory allocation is a known issue developers will have to contend with they (MS) should be doing everything they can to make access to these features very easy in the development IDE?
The fact Xbox is in 3rd place and most 3rd party developers only take the Series S into consideration late in the cycle only compounds this so why aren't they making scalable development for it as simple as it can be.
In the IGN interview overnight Phil laughs when they talk about an army of devs being shipped over to help Larian out but the fact they even have to send somebody in to assist is an issue that needs resolving longer term. I mean, every hardware has its limits and bottlenecks and in some ways knowing what it is on Series S is really good because you can then come up with methods to resolve it...

It's interesting too because it suggests that if rumours end up being true and Sony releases a PS5 Pro, it will mean that consumers will be eating one hell of RRP for it and the results won't justify the price tag. It's something compounded as well by the fact that whilst the Series S might have its issues, it's not like many PS5 games have side stepped the PS4 either. When it comes to next-gen it seems like MS might need to aim for a slightly higher RRP on the next Series S and use it to ensure there's a smoother allignment between the S2 and X2.

https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/memberships these have them at 6.99 so £4.66ish a month as apposed to the £12.99 they are currently charging for ultimate.
You can also do this trick to top up your existing sub ( i stuck another year onto mine) as its going away on september 1st as gold will just convert to gamepass core from then on.
