Bethesda’s space opera takes what people loved about Fallout and Skyrim, and casts it across an enormous…
first review in from VGC
tldr its amazing but.....
While the majority of our 100 hours with the game have been on the PC version, which runs impeccably, it’s worth mentioning that we’ve also spent a significant amount of time on the Xbox Series X version. The downsides to the Series X version were previously known, namely the 30fps visuals, but sadly, that’s not where the shortcomings end. During our time with the game, the console version was significantly buggier than our PC journey, and the load times were sometimes very long.
The whole Starfield experience is here, and you’ll still have a wonderful time playing it on Xbox, but it’s worth noting these downsides if you have the option of playing the game on a powerful PC instead. Bugs and loading times could be improved in the future, but the 30fps visuals are less certain.the poor load times has to be down to xbox cheaping out on their ssd tech i really dont see how they get away with charging so much for such crap speed gen 4 nvme drives.

Most of the reviews I've seen have said this is a highly polished, must-play RPG, the IGN sounds like the outlier.
I wasn't expecting it to unlock until late Friday, but it apparently will be available at 1AM BST.Last edited by MartyG; 31-08-2023, 17:13.

Console version sounds like a dead duck out the gate, perfectly good ssd in the SeriesX no excuses whatsoever for poor loading, and no 60fps on console is just lazy.
