Figured out why nothing updates when the console goes into standby, the wifi on the SeriesX disconnects when the machine is put into sleep. May have to do a complete wipe to factory settings and start fresh to see if that cures is, doesn’t seem widespread but im not the only one with this issue. I’ll try the work arounds before a full factory restore.

I've always been very doubtful about Game Pass working well via PC. The market is huge but there's very few compelling reasons to bother with it. That GP has grown relatively slowly and MS has had such success selling full price via Steam I feel shows how GP lacks punch on the platform. It's great to play Xbox exclusives in better quality but it otherwise still feels like an after thought, even for MS.

Lots of Xbox leaks coming via discovery for FTC v Microsoft.
Redesigned 'slim' Series X on the way. Discless, 2TB, same $499 price, due November '24.
Includes a new pad, too, with some new tricks...
Seems that a further update to the Series S will be along too, probably a SKU including the same new pad...
Plus, a three year old slate of future Bethesda games confirms that at least at that time, there were plans for:
- The Oblivion remaster (originally set for fiscal year 2022)
- Doom Year Zero and DLC (fiscal year 2023) and a second set of DLC (fiscal year 2024)
- The Fallout 3 remaster (fiscal year 2024)
- A sequel to Ghostwire: Tokyo(fiscal year 2024)
- Dishonored 3 (fiscal year 2024)
There are also a number of titles for console / PC without specific names, including:
- The Indiana Jones game (which we have known about for awhile and was originally scheduled for fiscal year 2022)
- Project Kestrel (fiscal year 2023) and an expansion (fiscal year 2024)
- Project Platinum
- A vaguely-named “licensed IP game”
I must say I really hope that Oblivion remaster is still happening.

Just following on from the above, it's interesting to consider some of the ramifications here.
Firstly it looks like from late 2024, you can wave goodbye to Xbox being compatible with physical media altogether.
Secondly, I think this firmly puts the kibosh on the idea of a 'Pro' model with improved specs this gen.
Some of the other leaked emails show MS execs discussing the commencement of the next gen in 2028, by the way, although that's not too much of a surprise.
