Makes sense how the mod arrived so quick, turns out it's already available on the seven seas

I thought dlss used AI and a big server farm at Nvidia on a per title basis. How can you just drop a dlss mod in hours after launch? Assuming I've got dlss all wrong at this point.

DLSS 1 require AI training, from version 2 onward it can be implemented at engine level.

Figured out why nothing updates when the console goes into standby, the wifi on the SeriesX disconnects when the machine is put into sleep. May have to do a complete wipe to factory settings and start fresh to see if that cures is, doesn’t seem widespread but im not the only one with this issue. I’ll try the work arounds before a full factory restore.

Is that because they just got rid of gold and now everyone who wants to play online on xbox has to have game pass core.

Either that or 5m signed up two weeks ago to get cheap access to Starfield Given the Xbox userbase, GP can't have much growth left in it now

It covers the whole PC market (and the entire game streaming market if we are to believe the CMA). I think they've got room to grow yet

I've always been very doubtful about Game Pass working well via PC. The market is huge but there's very few compelling reasons to bother with it. That GP has grown relatively slowly and MS has had such success selling full price via Steam I feel shows how GP lacks punch on the platform. It's great to play Xbox exclusives in better quality but it otherwise still feels like an after thought, even for MS.

Hmm, I've used it loads. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

The app is pretty awful though (mind, there has been an update recently that seems to have sorted out updates and the problem with it forgetting you're logged in).

I kind of agree the PC market is so full of cheap ways to game that its not something i would consider purely for PC, your humble bundles, your weekly epic game store freebies and steam sales kind of trump the need for a subscription based library like Gamepass.

Lots of Xbox leaks coming via discovery for FTC v Microsoft.

Redesigned 'slim' Series X on the way. Discless, 2TB, same $499 price, due November '24.

Includes a new pad, too, with some new tricks...

Seems that a further update to the Series S will be along too, probably a SKU including the same new pad...

Plus, a three year old slate of future Bethesda games confirms that at least at that time, there were plans for:

There are also a number of titles for console / PC without specific names, including:

                              • The Indiana Jones game (which we have known about for awhile and was originally scheduled for fiscal year 2022)
                              • Project Kestrel (fiscal year 2023) and an expansion (fiscal year 2024)

                              • A vaguely-named “licensed IP game”

                              All the details:

I must say I really hope that Oblivion remaster is still happening.

Just following on from the above, it's interesting to consider some of the ramifications here.

Firstly it looks like from late 2024, you can wave goodbye to Xbox being compatible with physical media altogether.

Secondly, I think this firmly puts the kibosh on the idea of a 'Pro' model with improved specs this gen.

Some of the other leaked emails show MS execs discussing the commencement of the next gen in 2028, by the way, although that's not too much of a surprise.
