Now it seems it's completely impossible - you can no longer redeem points for Game Pass Ultimate on the Rewards.

Whether they'll return, who knows, Microsoft didn't announce they were removing them. Currently, you can only get PC Game Pass, Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Store vouchers. Guess you could get it with Amazon Gift vouchers a bit cheaper, but you're probs going to have to work harder for the points for free Game Pass going forward; if it does reappear, I'd imagine it'll be at a high point cost due to the price increase.

I never redeemed it that way anyway... there were always better methods for extending your subscription outside of the auto-redeem direct options.

I guess they might be removing them because once they re-launch with Game Pass Core you'd expect that would be the default auto-redeem offering? There's a lot of change going on in this space anyway. I can't really keep up but past September I would expect it all dies down.

There is a MS guy on Twitter Daniel Martins I think it is who generally posts about what is going on.

I've never used auto-redeem either - they're not there as an option at all currently.

They are for me... but just PC game pass and the £5 gift card.

On the flip side, they never reversed the glitched 3 for 1 month codes they doled out the other week

Pretty sure they stopped my capability to use emu in retail mode months ago. No suspension, mind.

I suspect we'll find this story is incorrect, given there's no sensible reason for doing this - if people are running apps in retail mode, it's because the apps are there to download from Microsoft's store, I believe uploaded apps still have to be certified first.

Microsoft has the ability to remove apps and by doing so de-license them from accounts, so why would they need to ban user accounts that have downloaded and run apps that Microsoft has certified and published? If a hack is being used to exploit the running of retail apps, that's something different - but that would still make the report inaccurate as the ban would be for exploiting a security flaw, not for running any particular type of content.

Find genuine replacement parts to repair Xbox Wireless Controller and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. Free standard shipping and returns.

Microsoft continues its repairability push by offering official parts for its controllers.

I would love it is Ms, Ninty and Sony(especially sony) make replacement analogue sticks, and made it so the whole switch box just clicks in and out rather than soldered in. It's time for a revolution.

Suggestion that the rumours were true and trying to support Xbox Series S will mean that Baldur's Gate 3 won't land on MS consoles until 2024

But I thought it’s exactly the same console? I’ve been assured it is so this surely shouldn’t be a problem?

This can't be right, not even the X?

Nope. The X and S are both next-gen Xbox consoles so it has to work on both when launched.
