Well, kind of. You can still do it and it's still much cheaper but you lose about a third of the value compared to before

Gold now converts to GPU at a 3:2 ratio rather than 1:1.

Not as bad as it could be but not the steal it once was.

Thankfully I still have around 2 years left on my subscription. If it remains as it now is I'll likely do the same trick to get 2yrs cheaper then use points to make up the third year for free

Oh is that right? I thought it was the case that if you already had Gold and then did the 'upgrade' to GPU by paying for a single full price month of it, your Gold months all converted to GPU months at 1:1.

Hmm maybe I'm wrong... I think it solely depends on whether you let your subscription lapse completely.

If you were just a xbox live gold member and did the upgrade then yeah it sounds like it was a 1:1 conversion but if you're adding on top of an existing game pass ultimate membership h using xbox live gold subscription cards/credit then it was this worse conversion.

It’s only a few months since I did the conversion and it was still one to one then. I did deliberately let my subscription lapse to get that ratio.

343 is said to be working with modders to add content that was cut from Halo: Combat Evolved back into that game in the Halo: Master Chief Collection. The content will include vehicles, enemies and multiplayer maps

Those are the rates if you add gold to an existing GPU sub. It'll be a bit better if you let your sub lapse.

Bad news is MS points for Fitness vids have been axed now. Good news is until MS realises it's happening redemptions of MS points for 1x Month of Game Pass Ultimate are spitting out codes for 3x Months. I'm back down to 2,000 Reward Points now but subbed till March 2026
