Gears of War 6 will reportedly remain Xbox and PC exclusive. Fable IV and South of Midnight may be on course for 2025 release dates and MS are said to be currently considering PS5 versions of:
-Senua's Saga: Hellblade II
-Doom: The Dark Ages
-Starfield
-Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition
-Age of Mythology
-Halo: Combat Evolved Remastered
The last one there is not a port of the MCC version but yet another updated version.
Not saying it's not true, but I would rather hear it direct from Microsoft themselves. I mean, what does considering even mean in this context? Microsoft considered buying Nintendo once....
As for remaking Halo CE, again. It's 27 years old and I own 3 copies of it now across PC and Xbox. It's aged but the MCC version still holds up... I don't think they need to unless they try to actually remaster it ground up into something different.
Stick it on Playstation? I dunno... there's pros and cons to it but without knowing their full strategy it's hard to say whether it's the right thing to do.
Either way I'm not reading any more insider crap until next week.

Xbox's biggest concern when it comes to rumours is how many have turned out to be true lately...

Why even calling that 'Fable' game Fable, nothing about the originals remain from all the fake gameplay and crappy cgi we saw, just one ugly, ugly dower game.
As for the rest... maybe a C- over all, with nice surprises showing some sort of Perfect Dark going down the Deus Ex HR path but i have no confidence it be any good. Hopefully the Gears prequel will go back to pure linear design, as i was so turned of with 5 and 6 (along with the characters and story being crap).
Things i remember from it.. Doom Dark ages looked ok, Expedition 33 looks solid and is surprising a RPG. and ermm... i can't remember it all mush of similar games or new content for service games i don't play.
The full changes to COD animation system to something like that reminds me of helldrivers2, actually as me really interested (plus is on GP, an easy 'free' play for me)
No Banjo though.

I thought that was a really solid showcase overall. About as good as can be expected really with some solid surprises.
I actually really like the tone of Fable. It looks like they've crafted it into something new with fresh ideas so I'm up for that. Also great to see a welsh accent in there as well, gets my vote.
Perfect Dark looked decent after hearing about all the issues behind the scenes so I'm hopeful that turns out you be great when it finally lands.
Indiana Jones still looks a little janky in places but it just has be won over with the humour and tone. Much like Fable it just feels like the studio gets it and so I've got a good feeling about it.
Gears of War, I think it's a great idea but find it kinda weird they ditched the gothic style for what appears to be a more New York real world setting? Not really sure how that fits into the whole thing but good to see what the Coalition had been up to and I want to see more.
State of Decay 3 actually looks good after never being interested much in the previous two.
South of Midnight just looks great, really my sort of thing and the art style and setting is spot on.
I also thought the same of that Anna Purna Mixtape game. That just has cool vibes that will make me want to check it out.
I think the only low point really was the hardware. Nothing really surprising, but I really was hoping you hear about a handheld.
A solid 8/10 for me, maybe even a 9...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 - As someone for whom MW3 was the first entry I didn't pick up, BO6 looks nice but GP will be doing the heavy lifting
Doom: The Dark Ages - Like I've said previously, will depend on how much it's like 2016 rather than Eternal
State of Decay 3 - I never gelled with the first two, this looked nicer but much the same
Starfield: Shattered Space - Depends on if it's 'free'
Starfield: Creation Kit - Shrug
South of Midnight - Looks promising
Perfect Dark - Could be good if the freedom of approach is there
Fable - Looks nice but hard to make much more out than that
Fragpunk - I feel like I'm developing an irrational hatred for team shooters
Indiana Jones - A tad clunky in that Machinegun Games way but I'm all in
Avowed - Looks more solid this time out
STALKER 2 - Also looking good which with the above gies Xbox the 3-4 games to solidly close the year out
Gears of War: E-Day - Shrug again? Kind of have to take anything announced that vaguely as something that only stands have a chance of launching pre-2027
The new Xbox models are peak redundant, the most boring colour and spec update options in a way that just dilutes the clarity for the few consumers still interested.
Dragon Age 4, Expedition 33, MGS3 Delta, Flintlock, Mixtape, Life is Strange 4, Atomfall all look solid.
To be honest I think they have the show format all sorted, it's direct and focused firmly on the games. Overall, the titles shown are broadly of interest too. MS is clearly still heavily subsidising Game Pass, good for us in the short term. But, it's the same tired old problem yet again as to why the show feels underwhelming. All their most interesting stuff is 2025/2026 at the earliest. Series S/X really is a closed book now.
