Thing is would it have killed them to just release Indy on 2 disks. It’s not the first time a game has been too big to fit on one I remember gta4 on x360 having a data disk and a software disk. You installed the data disk then use the other to boot and play the game.

Pressing disks costs pennies and yet they didn’t bother. Part of me believes it was done as some drm style of effort, modern games are going to be a whole gen permanently lost to time due to online requirements. Not even pirate backups will save some games.

I've been watching a streamer play it, after very boring opening hour, it looks quite enjoyable. Reminds me of the last gen Deus Ex games, where there is just enough openness to the linear levels and combat to allow you have some fun and experiment.

Indy looks good, if they put the PS5 physical out actually on the disk then it will get a purchase.

It's very good. I've been playing it all day yesterday and today. It's got that great classic Indiana Jones atmosphere with great visuals and audio to boot. The game plays really well too and is a solid 60fps for those with VRR TVs and pretty much a solid 60fps for those who don't.

As regards the disc being a coaster and whether it costs them money to print the data, could it be the costs are in ensuring each disc’s data is verified? Frustrating all the same.

I can't image each disk ever creates has its own verification code, or even internal tracking, as i would imagine that sort of information is tied to console serial numbers.

As it is, every company that produces a disk that doesn't work really needs to be looked at from their respective environmental agencies, as the impact is pretty bad, at least a car burning petrol gets you somewhere, these disks are just an utter waste of every resource that goes into them, top to bottom, for something that does nothing.

You'll really enjoy it. Sometimes I play stealthy and other times just go in blasting and fist fighting. I love that you always have a choice on how to tackle the game.
I also like in most cases dead bodies and items stay where you left them. Well, until a new section of the story opens up.
I finished Italy yesterday and now I'm in Egypt. Only saw a little of Egypt so far but it's looking just a great as Italy was.
I must also mention the voice acting. It's quality stuff all round. Even the guy doing Indiana is very convincing for the most part.
Finally, you should play in Cinema Mode. It adds so much to the atmosphere.

Did the intro last night, it recreates the sequence really well. Definitely a high level of attention to detail going on in it

Got my Year in Review for Xbox, heavily skewed by Rewards points earning in the first half of the year before MS destroyed their apps etc. 235hrs on Age of Empires II

Apparently I'm in the top 15% of Xbox users for time played (that will collapse in 2025), the top 4% of users for Gamerscore and top 10% for Achievements unlocked which is impressive given how little time I actually spend playing games via the platform so I'm not sure if that's instead just a damning reflection of how few users they're getting down to now.

I think those kinds of figures are always skewed by how many people have subscriptions but barely use the service honestly.

I was in some tiny top percentage of Spotify users according to Spotify Wrapped, which surprised me since I don't have music running all day long.

Everyone is bracing for the announcement of the Xbox handheld.... though it could also be an update on their hardware sales figures too
