20 years on, are we stable yet?

Worked mostly ok for me, 4k medium with textures and clothes set to high, frame-rate tanked to the 30's outside the sewer, 3070 doesn't much like the built in low lumen stuff. No crashes so far, and a bug where the shield stayed on the arm when equipping the bow blocking the view.

Takes some getting use to having 1 button for weapons and spells, using the shortcut wheel for everything. Started with the classic sneak/bow combo

It's a real bitch that Microsoft own Bethesda with all this. Their games should all have good, modern VR versions out the box - but Microsoft officially aren't supporting the medium.

Will it hold up for a first time player even if it looks prettier than it once did, do you think?

Do not correct me on the years.
I know, man. I bought Demon's Souls at launch a couple of years ago and I'm still getting around to it.

Imagine about to bust open your PS3 sealed Demon's Souls whilst a remaster exists. Wild times. Great game, by the way (either version).

The upgrade in visuals bodes well for the also inbound Fallout 3 Remaster

Tried it on my Series S for a little while and it's probably not the best way to play. 30FPS, possible frame pacing issue, lighting issues, low res. Obviously, it was always gonna be a bit parp in comparison, but I think the Series S is coughing and spluttering now.

I'm in no rush at the moment and will probably pick up for my PS5 Pro in the future. That's a shame, I had written a song and everything for the occasion.

The Oblivion remaster does indeed look great. It still has some of the trademark Bethesda jank, although Oblivion isn't quite as high on the jankometer as some other Bethesda games (I found weapons cast giant shadows over bodies of water last night, for example, along with some camera weirdness when an NPC speaks, etc.). Fallout 3, on the other hand, I was forced to stop playing because of a game-breaking bug. Hopefully they sort all that **** out in the remaster.

It already runs well in UEVR with a controller, looking at the progress on Discord, it should be fully hand tracked by the weekend.

Can't get this game to run at all now - crashes the moment I try to load a saved game with the same UE5 error - looks like quite a lot of people are seeing this issue on all manner of setups AMD and NVIDIA cards of various generations (including on PS5), so that's killed getting any progress done tonight.

Not really sure how this issue could have been missed in QA tbh.

Edit: Updated to the hotfix drivers, same issue, but it looks like an earlier save would load, so I'd make sure to have a few saved at regular intervals.
