        It will: https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-comp...-before-launch

Some folks will do anything to get a card to scalp on eBay.

There was no chance of getting an RTX 5090, most of them were listed for arrival in May 2025 and they still sold the pre-orders out, only three of the SKUs on Scan were available today and Overclockers just went bad gateway straight away on Cloudflare. RTX 5080s all went in seconds as well.

So, stick with the 4090 it is.

I've had to distract myself the last couple of nights, 5090 vids kept coming up in my feed and it led me down a rabbit hole of how much people can use things like lossless scaling etc to push what they can get out of thigns like GTX1080's. Made me feel very secure with my current card

I would guess that every card went to bot farm scalpers.

There's a spreadsheet doing the rounds with the number of cards each Micro Center in the US had, can't speak to the accuracy of that data (it may just be BS) but it was showing a total of just 233 5090s across all stores and that tracks with info Overclockers in the UK were saying about availability. Talk about paper launch.

You can pre-order from Scan now, but you're going to be waiting a while, most SKUs aren't expected to be available until May.

And yup, a load of cards on eBay now marked up at £3500+ and sadly, people are buying them :/ and this is why we can't have nice things.

233 cards for the entire USA . Thats not even a sample test let alone a launch.

So yesterday I installed Bazzite (Linux) on my gaming PC. I don't do VR anymore and I'd heard that Bazzite actually ran games better when using AMD GPUs. So far I've only run MGSV, Divinity Original Sin 2 and Batman Arkham Knight but those have all run flawlessly, with no need to install and configure Wine or change any settings. My Steam cloud saves were all intact etc. The distro is set up for gaming, with Steam pre-installed and some other bits that I haven't looked at yet, including a unified game launcher/librarian called Lutris. My Unigine Superposition benchmark is a couple of percent higher than under Windows as well. So far, so good. We no doubt have SteamDeck to thank for this but - VR aside - it's looking like a viable option over Windows.

Meanwhile on windows11, my first ever experience with 11 I’ve hit the dreaded 24H2 update error, so far nothing has cleared it.

                              F me dead MS.

edit. Ended up just doing a clean iso install rather than any more wasted time fixing. I should have just done this in the first place.

Steam Nextfest is up with hundreds of demos to try. Games that caught my eye and not all for good reasons,

Roadcraft, sabre moving the next runner game into pure co-op disaster fixing, however most trying the demo are giving the thumbs down, removal of core aspects like gear and fuel management, no vehicle damage and new physics engine full of glitches and being less realistic, which is not surprisingly the dev continue to drop the ball after MR: expeditions

House of the Dead 2 remake with silly added ragdolling for deaths from the Panzer Dragoon remake dev

Breathedge getting a sequel which is a massive surprise, gave up about 8 hours in to the first game when the grind got to much to unlock basic story progress.

As for stuff i've download to try so far,
