It’s the only VR game I completed which I had to do with 1-2 hour breaks to calm the motion sickness down before i carried on, absolute masterpiece and a shame it’s trapped on vr where the vast majority of PlayStation owners can’t play it.

For me, the really... demoralising part of PSVR2 support from Sony is that software development, as we're constantly told these days, takes many years. The lack of Sony's support for the headset then can mean one of only two things, they've either run the numbers soon after launch and quietly cancelled a glut of projects for it or... there never were any projects. That Sony always planned to put it out to fend for itself and have intentionally withheld that strategy from those shelling out half a grand who had been hoping to experience their favourite IP's in full 3D but instead have Sony considering it to be an expensive tethered Quest. Unless it's a home console, it's really hard to trust Sony with hardware releases.

I'm actually shocked that they made such a good headset in terms of features and specifications... and released 2 first party titles.
I can only think there's a third possible reason and that's that they expected to lean heavily on 3rd party support and that hasn't worked due to market conditions and cancellations.
Either way it just looks like it's on life support.

The way it's talked about in here is like there is no software for the PSVR2 but most of the big third party releases come to the PSVR2 with new stuff releasing all the time, Behemoth and Alien: Rogue Incursion got gameplay premiers during the recent Sony showcase so it's not like Sony are ignoring the headset, these games don't come to the system without Sony supporting and working with developers.
Two anticipated VR games, Behemoth and Alien: Rogue Incursion, showed their first glimpse of gameplay during PlayStation’s State of Play presentation today. Both are set to launch across all major VR platforms later this year. Behemoth First Look at VR Gameplay Kicking things off with Behemoth: this is the latest game from developer Skydance Interactive, the studio …
If you take all the announced stuff and everything that's out now, you get to 254 titles, and these include the big hitters that most people want to play in VR like Beat Sabre, Job simulator, Pistol Whip, Breachers, the walking dead 1-2 and Arizona sunshine 2 to name a few. And that's before you get to things like GT, Horizon, Resident Evil 4, or switchback.

It's more frustration at the clear mishandling that Sony not only does but seems to do so intentionally. The PSVita ended up with over 1,700 games released on it but it was mishandled by Sony and as a result we never saw another handheld from them again, they ****ed away the success of the PSP. The PSVR2 scenario is far too reminiscent.

Definitely, to be in the peak era of the current gen and have Sony openly say they won't be launching a major AAA for a two year period pretty much states how it is for anything else on their side slate. It's a shame as well because PSVR1 managed to deliver a handful of beloved titles and the combination of PSVR2 not delivering the same and also not getting ports of those titles is disappointing, especially when the adaptor would make it more expected that any such releases could stand a better chance at making some nice side money by getting launched on PC as well. We're 5 years after Alyx now and it never did herald the step forward that had been hoped for.
