I'd assumed Sony were playing smart with these remasters and iterative sequels to keep costs down but clearly that isn't the case and none of these titles are even remotely sustainable longer term.
What all the recent change of plans where GaaS are concerned as well, plus Factions being canned where is the profit going to come from longer term?
With budgets like this those profit margins are getting slimmer all the time.

Although it's interesting to see this material I feel bad for the developers to have all this exposed while it's still a work in progress.
There is a really good documentary called Double Fine PsychOdyssey which is a TV series length/quality series of one hour episodes about life at DoubleFine, which gives a real insight to non industry people like me into what working at a games developer is like.
One thing I learned from it, that seems obvious yet I had not considered, is that 'Going public', i.e. announcing a game is in development, is a really big deal that adds a huge amount of pressure to the team.
To have that happen to you on a random Tuesday a few days before Christmas for projects that are in some cases still in early pre-production must be a really, really horrible surprise. Worse, you've now got tons of redditors picking through this stuff and giving their opinions on it, when it was likely intended for only a handful of close team members.
It also potentially creates a situation where you'll have people down the line moaning that 'I thought we were going to have X feature or Y story' when the actual game is revealed, because this stuff is being shown so far ahead of time.
Looking at these mood board slides I feel like I'm looking through someone's private files (because I am). Gives me the ick. Feel bad for the people involved.

Seriously though whoever did this is absolute scum and I feel for everyone at Insomniac and Sony.
Looking at the Wolverine footage doing the rounds you could argue it doesn't look a million miles away from Spiderman. I'm sure it'll be a huge commercial success but it doesn't make the output very diverse.
I'd love a Resistance VR title... bring back Drive Club. Maybe some more Ape Escape or a full on GaaS Syphon Filter reboot platform.
But no, insomniac is basically Marvel & Ratchet now...
