Mate, you wont be able to play it at all then im afraid. If you play it via DVDR with the chip on, the reset feature of the mod makes the game reset when you press the Ignition switch
Not quite, I had this problem and found a workaround other than turning off the modchip.

Jam the right hand stick into the up position and hit the ignition switch. No reset, and the mech turns on just fine. Bizarre? Yes.

Nice one, sounds pretty cool, I'll give it a go on my japanese copy to see if it works on mine!

I think alot of these issues are ISP related. There seems to be a problem with the big ISP's and the quality of links they have to the US. I'm going to plug in a sniffer tonight and try and get the info on what the capcom IP addresses are to do some testing. I'm not sure Capcom will be able to fix this short of redoing the network communications to reduce the bandwidth required which will mean some sacrafice in the gameplay I'm sure.

Although on the other hand the guys who wrote this are based in Japan were everyone has 8mbps DSL links :-) so it could be lazy coding.

        Regards,
        Neil.

The issues are to a certain extent ISP related but I don't think they're the main cause. It's all so easy for the to fob people off blaming it on their connection.

The fact is my connection is reliable enough to manage rock solid games on live 95% of the time and often more so than some people who have faster uplinks.

I KNOW for a fact that my connection is fine and I know what uploads I get.

The fact that a speed test between my xbox and some server in the US says otherwise is what's preventing me from getting a game.

What Capcom can do about it is fix the problem.

They have the means to fix the game. From the sound of it they didn't address any issues the beta testers brought up.

Dont stand for any **** when your spending ?130 on a game. (you probably already know this)
            Good luck

They offered to take it back but I simply don't trust them enough to get a result this way.

I'm of the impression that the netcode in this game is shockingly basic. I say this because mine lags a bit even in the start up sequence, which is totally daft as the sequence when the cockit comes down is just a prerendered sequence, and yet the game is lagging. This is on a 3 vs 3 game, so the only possible thing that is happening is six people pressing the Cockpit Htach button at the same time. Whoopity do .

It's a great game, but last night I got owned because the lag was quite bad and the aiming recticle was wandering around all over the place. It's so annoying when you hit the lock on button and nothing happens, so you click it again to find you were locked on and now you're not.

What I don't understand is why they need servers in the first place. Why can't the game just run peer to peer and then update the servers with the results once the game has finished just like any other Live game?

                Woo!

                Tekki Figures

Available from Hobby Link and (I hope) some other places. I've never used HLJ, worth a pop? I think so...
