Ah, Just play on Dreamcast Most Dreamcast games (Japanese ones that is) ask you what card you want to save to from a selection of 8 possibilities. Once you've made your choice it will stay like that through out the game. Plus I love the "Auto Saving" features that many games have.

for me the best thing about the xbox is not having to worry about which games read "slot B" or fussing about which memory card you have in for which games.. or organsing what games you play over a day by which memory card is in (sad). also i hate swapping memory cards as this wears out the ports.. or well did on my psone and im worried it will happen to my cube :S

RPG's are usually the best for being able to read slot B.. capcom and square games tend to be good too (esp. resident evil & ff series).. hardware companies and game developers deserve to rot in hell for not being able to read slot b.. it cant be that hard. Surely you can write the code once and adapt it for each game?? in another industry you wouldnt get away with substandard crap so why should games be any different?? perhaps the demise of the british games industry is linked to their inability to program games that use slot b? perhaps this is why people like codemasters are moving increasingly over to the xbox?

I agree with you about xbox, its a breath of fresh air to be honest. I have never been a big fan of mem cards but accepted it from day one.

Give me good ol battery back any day........(unitl the battery fails and you need to solder in a new one)

Does the PS2 HDD work for saves or does the game have to be compatible? I have the HDD but beyond using it for FFXI I haven't looked into what it can do.

AFAIK they have to be compatible, but I believe you can back up your existing memory cards onto it... Anyone want to clarify?

251 JPN games. 251 USA games.

Click the switch. Swap the cards. Turn on - Sorted.

More than 251 slots, you have too much time!

This really annoys me as well. Surely it can't be that difficult for all games to read both slots on boot up of a game. Some sort of standard coding algorithm or whatever.
