    ADSL Migration problems advice

    Help !

I'm trying to migrate to another ISP from BT Yahoo!OpenShed.

My problem seems to be i had an engineer assisted install (the only one available 3 years ago), now this seems to be an issue for ISPs. I've been told i cannot migrate because of this.

Now i've all but accepted this and now understand i have to cancel my ADSL and resubscribe elsewhere. Now do i have to remove the BT ADSL line box if i want a 'wires only' install or do BT have to change equipment in the exchange or both ?

In a perfect world the only thing needed to migrate is a connection at your exchange.

There's no technical reason having an engineer installed box in your house would stop it unless BT consider it their property... (in which case you're fecked)

Sadly the words 'perfect' and 'world' dont apply to BT Wahoo!TotalShed.

Anyway if they insist on removing the socket that's no problem as i've have the tools.

I had to do the same, they came and collected the adsl modem. But they didn't say a word about the filter box they fitted.

If they do want it back they will send an enginner round to remove it.

wow - after a email conversation with Zen internet they said they will try to do this migration manually. The problem was/is BT engineer installed ADSL were supplied with a router, which BT have to configure. My installation uses a USB modem so hopefully they can migrate me

For anyone interested in this thread an update. Zen managed to migrate me. No more BTYahoo Openshed!
