Was talking to someone about some 80s computer games I was playing and when reading a reply (from a non-gmail address) I had those wee google text adverts down the right hand side for 80s game sites.

Bit less intrusive than the A2 size flashing adverts after you post in Yahoo!, mind.

Try making a blogger.com account. That's how I got mine. I just logged in one day (after not touching it for months, of course), and bang! There was a gmail invite on the right hand side.
