No idea on the 2600+, heard the 2500 (barton) was particularly clockable though.
I'm using:
-2500 barton
-nf7-s 2.0
-thermaltake SL97 heatsink/pipe
-zalman 92mm fan (currently running 1700rpm and still she's only 53 deg C under torture load)
-artic silver 2
Had no intention of clocking it, it's all running nice and low rpm (both fans ~1700rpm) for silence. You know what it's like though.

Cheers mate, however the case I am ordering is the Antec Sonata and only has two 120mm fan locations with a 380W power supply. Due to the lack of cooling I am not considering drastic overclocking. However, on ebuyer I can't find this Arctic Silver 5 paste and also can some point me in the direction of a good value for money fan and heatsink for the CPU, as I read the ones that come with it are basic at best.

You've got more cooling than I have.
I have a coolermaster 210 (think wavemaster without the wavey front) currently operating a single 80mm fan out the rear at 1800rpm. There's another 80mm intake fan but it has a molex connector, not a 3 pin mobo plug, so wouldn't be subject to rpm control.
With it, I'm using an Enermax 350W variable rpm psu, with the dial about halfway (just on the limit of being audible). The case itself I've lined with Akasa sound proofing, which tends to reflect heat inwards.
when I did that hour's torture test last night, I had the door to this tiny room shut and I was sweating cobs. Still the ambient case temp didn't break 40 degrees. With a mildly overclocked cpu.
Compare that to running a game on my old tbred with that intake fan running and having an ambient case temp of 60 (!) degrees. It was rock solid and had uptimes of weeks, but the difference of 20 degrees is startling, all told.

Globalwins skivved offerings can be pretty cool. My friend has one with funny
football motifs, the CAK 486, runs a infernal Palomino 1800 at 38C in hot summer
in a hot sun facing room. When buying a good sink, you should ideally look at it's
performance statistics.
Main reason is mnf's can just make things that look big and impressive
but are squishy when it comes to doing the job.
It's much smaller than a Thermaltake, but because it's skivved it outperforms
it in the bedroom, where it counts. (u see what I've done there hahe)Last edited by fifty?ballz; 29-07-2004, 22:21.

Zalman don't have one which fits the Abit NF7-SI am wanting to overclock a mobile XP2500 so need a good performing heatsink and fan which is preferbly not on the noisey side (that is why I liked Zalman). Overclockers don't have any Thermalright left Stu. I am confused what to get, come on someone must have an overclocked XP-M!
